Border Patrol agents along the southwest U.S. border with Mexico apprehended around 121,000 migrants in the first half of December, with an additional 11,000 listed as “got-aways.”

This brings the total for Fiscal Year 24 to approximately 504,000 migrants.

The Tucson and Del Rio Sectors are particularly overwhelmed, with Arizona border agents apprehending about 40,000 migrants and the Del Rio Sector in Texas apprehending around 32,000

What does apprehended mean? To me it means, they are the lucky ones who get free food, lodging, medical care, and other benefits. I heard the other day that one of those apprehended must return for a court appearance

And what's your point? Here's the thing, we have a broken system that takes way too long to process people. My wife arrived here 7 years ago on an asylum claim. She still hadn't gotten a hearing. After consulting with her lawyer, we decided it was better to go with a marriage sponsorship instead. That's going to take a YEAR to process, cost me over $4000 in fees and applications, and require me to submit 200+ pages of documents to prove we were really married.
