LOL.....They might have better luck shifting some pay from the teachers to the students. :laughing0301:

Talk about a total cluster f**k......FUBAR teacher union culture collides with FUBAR black culture.

That said, how many here would willingly subject themselves to Chicago school students for $100k?

-now it doesn't sound like quite so much, does it? ;)

Why listen to known liars from MAGAT?

In Chicago Public Schools (CPS), while reading proficiency has shown improvement, a significant number of students still struggle to meet grade-level standards. The 2023-24 Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) results indicate that 30.5% of CPS students in grades 3-8 met or exceeded expectations on the English Language Arts (ELA) exam, a rise of 4.6 percentage points compared to the previous year, but still below pre-pandemic levels.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:
  • Proficiency Rates:
While the most recent data shows a positive trend, only 30.5% of CPS students in grades 3-8 are considered proficient in reading.

  • Post-Pandemic Recovery:
CPS has seen a return to pre-pandemic reading proficiency levels, indicating a significant recovery from the disruptions caused by the pandemic.

    • Need for Continued Improvement:
Despite the gains, a large percentage of CPS students (approximately two-thirds) remain below grade level in reading, highlighting the need for continued efforts to improve student achievement.
    • Factors Contributing to the Challenge:
Several factors contribute to the challenge, including socioeconomic disparities, the impact of the pandemic on learning, and the need for increased resources and support for students and schools.
    • Emphasis on Early Intervention:
Addressing literacy gaps early on, through targeted interventions and support, is crucial to ensuring that all students reach their full potential.

Your stats don't prove or disprove the OP's points.

This is about specifically the achievement of black students in the Chicago Government School system.

Do your stats include honky, Asian and Hebrew kids as well?

I see you guys want to tutor black kids in yer spare time, because you was a straight A student.

The teachers put the information out there. If idiot kids are too stupid to learn it that’s their problem.

I knew a woman who taught at New Trier High School on the North Side of Chicago. Retired making $142,000 a year. She had a man problem the size of Montana.

As far as I know teachers are not eligible for Social Security. I'll never forget a retired teacher telling me many years ago (15 at least) that he was shocked by the number of increases he received to his pension, and what stood out was when he said "I don't know where this state gets the money", and that's it, the state does not have the money, that's why taxes are excessive in Illinois.

The real killer is the police and firefighter unions, they get hurt, they can start their pension early, otherwise, they can retire after 20 and get huge increases in their pensions over time. If you retire in your early 40's your pension could be massive.

And, of course, all the politicians get the same.

Have you ever contributed anything intelligent to this forum?

Honest question, because I don't recall ever seeing anything from you that was worth reading.

Obviously, you are a Hitler loving fascist MAGA mutant from hell.

I refuse to talk to Hitler loving fascists.

It's Idiocracy, the movie, in real-time .. brought to you by Carl's Junior. Would you like to have another "big ass taco?"

Cut teacher union salary/pensions and use the money to pay the kids to learn. put a monetary value on test scores.

Blah, the teacher union enforcers would just strong-arm the kids for kickbacks. ;)
