Why would they march to the capitol?
Trump didn't mention any march.
The event was literally called a “march”.
“On January 2, Trump announced plans to speak at the "March to Save America" rally on January 6.[f][113][114][115]”
Trump incited the attempted insurrection.......AT THE RALLY.
Not according to the official narrative. There were multiple warnings. Including over a million mentions of storming the Capital on social media.
“Ahead of the January 6 United States Capitol attack, there were widespread predictions of violence. Trump supporters, their opponents, media figures, and law enforcement all warned of upcoming violence. In 2023, a Senate report would conclude the attack was "planned in plain sight".[1]”
“Commentators had long feared that Trump might provoke violence after an electoral loss.[g][134] For several weeks before January 6, there were over one million mentions of storming the Capitol on social media, including calls for violence against Congress, Pence, and the police.[135][136][108]”
The rally took place anyway.
Trump could have cancelled.
Trump canceled before, for far less of a reason.
That is seriously the dumbest defense I have ever heard. As if it’s an excuse for the intelligence community, Capital security and law enforcement to fail in their job because the potential for violence could have been canceled by someone else? Why do we even have police if crime could be prevented by the criminals canceling their crimes? Totally delusional.
