1. All complainst and vituperation about the Iran issue is mostly due to antipithy for Trump.

2. Any complaints about the cost of gasoline have to be stated along with similar complainst when it happened under Biden.

3. Interview with Senator Lindsey Graham with the whold story

4.GRAHAM And the answer is no, but we're not going to sit on the sidelines and watch Iran get a nuclear weapon. Imminent. Let me tell you what the facts are, and you tell me if it was imminent. So Jared Kushner and Witkoff are charged by the president to go to the Iranians and sit down and see if you can do a deal over their nuclear program. Now, they've said for generations here, all we want is peaceful nuclear power. Countries enrich that have nuclear power, why should we be different? Why should we be second-class citizens? Why shouldn't we be allowed to enrich, like you do, for peaceful nuclear power? Well, the argument I would give back is that for about 20 years, you've been cheating. You have not tried to develop a peaceful nuclear program. Your enrichment program is well beyond what you need for peaceful purposes.

5. How do we know they've been cheating?
Because they said so, that comes in a minute. It's been pretty clear that IAEA, everybody has caught them having enrichment capability beyond what you need for commercial purposes. The most you need commercial purposes is 20% uranium. There is no commercial need for 60%. What does it take to make a weapon? 90. So 20 is the outside of commercial, 60 is threshold weapons, 90 is weapons. Now, the IAE, not me, has accused them.

6. Trump says, go talk to the Iranians, and here's what he offered them. You can have a small enrichment program to save face, we don't want to humiliate you, but it can be designed to go beyond small, and we will guarantee you spent fuel supply forever for food.

....they don't a nuclear power program, they want the capability to make a weapon because they're religious Nazis, and if you don't believe that, you're wrong. And those in the 30s who thought Hitler just was trying to get more German territory, trying to right Versailles, right wrongs, you're wrong. I don't know why people want to kill all the Jews, but Hitler did. I don't know why he believed the Aryan race had to be the master race, but he did. I don't know why these nut jobs in Iran want to purify Islam, but they do. I don't know why they want to kill all the Jews, but they say they do, and I think they would kill us. So that's where I'm at. Imminent.

One big problem with Lindsey's entire argument,

The most you need commercial purposes is 20% uranium. There is no commercial need for 60%

That completely ignores medical isotopes, which Iran has every right to create. Hell, we gave them the reactor to do it. And they have been successful in creating molybdenum-99 providing cancer screenings to over a million patients. It is used in agriculture, creating disease resistant strains and adding genetic diversity. Iran, alone, has produced varieties of rice, cotton, and soybeans with improved resistance and higher average yields. That requires enriched uranium.

I have plenty of antipathy but my complaint is that Trump's actions are reckless and likely to get us embroiled in an endless war just like Dubya did and for much the same reasons. Trump declared we won this war weeks ago but we're still fighting. The Iranians lost the war weeks ago but don't seem to have gotten that news, they are still fighting. I can't see a way to make them give up unless we put boots on the ground and take over the entire country. An impossibility. Didn't Vietnam and Iraq teach us that it is easy to into a war but much harder to get out.

Just being real. The whole medical and agricultural thing has always been at the forefront for the Iranians. Take the agreement with Obama, Iraq took it to 20%, they sent it to Russia, they would enrich it to maybe as high as 95%, send it to France, and France would process the medical isotopes to send to Iran. Trump ended that and ended the agreement.

But then again, maybe it is the agricultural thing. Iraq all over again. Then, it was Cargill and wheat. Now, perhaps it is cotton.
