~Your User Name~

Every question dabs asks is a question that pertains to your user accounts, not just here but everywhere.

I took the name of a pal from my earliest Marine Corps days, a native American named "American Horse" who I assume was named after a famous chief of the nineteenth century. Also, to me, the horse is the most beautiful and noblest of animals. In my youth I remember a man who would make a tour of our residential neighborhood and with a single horse plow small garden plots for everyone for a small fee. He would maneuver that horse, to me a giant beast, put down the plow and turn up the soil in a very confined space in our back yard and others up and down the street.

The horse or "Equus (Caballus)" first developed in America, travelled to Europe, Asia, and Africa and returned with the Spanish to the land of its origins where it was used to subjugate the Indians until they were able to steal or find free ranging wild mustangs.

HSA's theme sing

Getting to know you,
Getting to know all about you.
Getting to like you,
Getting to hope you like me.

Getting to know you,
Putting it my way,
But nicely,
You are precisely,
My cup of tea.

Getting to know you,
Getting to feel free and easy
When I am with you,
Getting to know what to say

Haven't you noticed
Suddenly I'm bright and breezy?
Because of all the beautiful and new
Things I'm learning about you
Day .. by ... day.

Ahhh - I can't help it. Maybe _some_ horses are smart. But, the vast majority I encountered were as dumb as rocks! The part about taking a horse to water and being unable to make it drink hits the nail on the head.
It takes years and years of training from when the creature was a colt or foal to teach of horse to be little different than a mule. No! I take that back. Mules are ALWAYS smarter than horses!!!!!

I lived on a ranch and we had plenty of horses, both wild and broken. In some ways, the wild ones were by far the smartest. Those raised from the stall often couldn't figure out how to find anything but their feedbags.

We had a Morgan like this. His favorite move was to step on your foot when you tried to put the later on him!!!
