"You Didn‘t Build That"

You people need to take a remedial class in reading comprehension. Seriously.

What part of "You didn't build that." are we missing?
He didn't say you didn't build them, those or any other plural.
He said "That" a singular word and he sure in hell was talking about the bussiness and not infrastructure. It is what he truly believes. He had to back track when there was a bigger backlash then he ever anticipated.

You can argue semantics about that one sentence all day long and it doesn't make you truthful or correct. The fact is, he went on to summarise his statement by saying "The point is that when we succeed, we succeed because of our own initiative, but also because we work together." Facts matter, Steven.

What they built was distrust for themselves with the American people. The right and left are not going to decide this election. The far right will vote Republican and the far left will vote Democrat. That is a fact. It's the middle that will decide the election, and we're not so stupid as to believe this nonsense. More importantly, we can be insulted that you actually THINK you can fool us with this nonsense.

"The point is, is that when we succeed, we succeed because of our individual initiative, but also because we do things together."

But instead the rabid right want to take a slight gramatical misstep and turn it into a campaign slogan. Looks like it worked on a certain small segment.

It does not matter if it was grammatical misstep or if the "you didn't build that" was taken out of context. The people who are telling you that Obama's speech that day, taken in full context, is even worse than the impression given by the phrase on its own are absolutely right. If any of you damn leftists would have bothered to read the books written by President Obama (ostensibly) himself, you would understand that his world-view and ideology preclude him from placing any value on, or belief in, individual achievement.

If your defense is that he was referring to our physical infrastructure and the civilized, organized society we live in being integral to whatever success any individual American may have achieved, than i am afraid you are only making matters worse for yourself and President Obama's claim. Why? Well, the first reason would be that we all have access to that infrastructure and organization. So, essentially, the difference between successful businesses and unsuccessful one's or between high income earners and the impoverished must something other than roads, bridges, and orderly communities. Right:? If being on a road or being on the other side of a river connected by a bridge was all it took for a business to succeed, all businesses would succeed. The second, and more relevant reason has to do with a very fundamental truth that leftists are universally ignorant of and/or unwilling to factor into their analysis of issues and events. It is this: the government has no money of its own. Every penny the govt spends must first be taken form the people. So, those roads and bridges were paid for by the same group of people in their day, that you are now claiming to be indebted to government and the masses for whatever they have. Just like now, the money came from the achievers, the productive, the poor didn't pay the taxes that built our infrastructure.

That song parody is BEAUTIFULLY done and funny as hell.. Funny because it's based on truth and funny because Obama deserves to be derided for those remarks. It was a step too far in the Class War and the divisionary tactics of this Admin..

Facts do matter as uncensored pointed out.

{look, if you’ve been successful, you didn’t get there on your own. You didn’t get there on your own. I’m always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart. There are a lot of smart people out there. It must be because I worked harder than everybody else. Let me tell you something—there are a whole bunch of hardworking people out there.}

Oh so now because of your myopic partisanship, you can make a paragraph mean any damn thing you want? Wow. Okay then. He was absolutely correct in what he said - and he DID mention the "individual" in that paragraph. No business could succeed without the public works that all of our taxes built. The poor absolutely DO pay taxes for infrastructure in a myriad of state and sales taxes. You really should learn to think for yourself.

Rush is obviously slipping

In the last election he was singing "Barack the Magic Negro" and calling him Halfrican

Is he not Half African?
Not according to America's premier racist!

RUSH: These polls on how one-third of blue-collar white Democrats won't vote for Obama because he's black, and -- but he's not black. Do you know he has not one shred of African-American blood? He doesn't have any African -- that's why when they asked whether he was authentic, whether he's down for the struggle. He's Arab. You know, he's from Africa. He's from Arab parts of Africa. He's not -- his father was -- he's not African-American. The last thing that he is is African-American.

And no public works could exist without the people that work to fund it. Let's not act like the government gets it's money off trees in the white house backyard. Government = public, therefore, government is for people, all the people, successful or not. Well, that's the theory anyway.

The message i got from the speech: "Lots of people work hard but some people are more successful than others and that's not fair considering everyone lives in America." It supports the theory that he's a big tax and spend wealth redistributionist.

It was never claimed that that was all it took. He was touting the amazing American system we have built. To lie and claim it was some kind of secret socialist communication or whatever lie you want to believe is beyond the pale and most Americans know it.

And no public works could exist without the people that work to fund it.
What part of "that all of our taxes built" did you not comprehend???

The message i got from the speech: "Lots of people work hard but some people are more successful than others and that's not fair considering everyone lives in America." It supports the theory that he's a big tax and spend wealth redistributionist.
Then you, especially, need to take a remedial reading comprehension course, because that's not at all the message.

You need to get off your high horse and stop telling people what to think. Different people interpret things differently.
