Seattle at large...Ballard lately
In my "The List" thread I was looking at it at 10:45 AM and was suprised to see the page n#187 extra wide. There were no replies to warrant that configuration..except...just under the reply title there were a series of little repeating boxes with a little red "X And in the boxs are little blurbs about "Huggy could be president".. or "Mal could be a state senator"...or "Sidestreamer could be a senator" The little boxes are side by side 5 or 6 accoss accounting for the extra wide format of the page. The strange thing is that the pages were normal yesterday and the new little boxes showed up today on several replies from an assortment of members posts. There are only two possibilities as far as I can guess ....a mod is drunk and playing games...or we are being hacked.

Anyone else have this problem?

It has something to do with the rep bars. Move your cursor over anyone's rep bar and you will see that kind of garbage.

Ya I saw the medal blurbs...same messages but the boxes are 5-6 accross with a little red x's in em. Nothing happens when ya click the x. The thread is back to normal now. I didn't do anything near the medals when every reply on #187 had the boxes in it.

Thanks

It's not "hackers." vBulletin is by far the most secure message board software out there. It doesn't get "hacked."

What you saw was the result of images not getting loaded, for whatever reason. It can be your connection at the time, or any other connection issue between you and USMB's servers. It also could be that you lost these items out of your cache somehow, or for whatever reason they were not called up.

Moderators cannot alter the makeup of the board, they have no file access or code access. So even if drunk, they could do nothing to affect the look of the board.

i think it sucks and we have been hacked somehow....i am having all kinds of problems with this site, especially the past couple of days....

the mods are not messing with you....but SOMEONE is...in my ever so humble opinion....

I'm not convinced the USMB wasn't hacked. How do you explain so many members, including me, only discovered problems when we logged on here and not elsewhere? Which, in my case, launched a worm or worms that found there way all through my system.

Before I logged on that day (the 23rd?), I had already read my email, the WAPO and Politico.com with no problem. I'm not blaming any of the owners/administrators of this site, but it did happen regardless how much software security it has.

vbulletin isn't 100% secure. alot of $ is made with vbulletin 0days.

with that said, a simple mess up of the load of html or css can completely break the layout and get the results you experienced. I have had it before and I can guarantee you that no one has owned my machine.

This is a direct result of Obama releasing prisoners from Gitmo. Now they're attacking every site with 'US' in the name. Until they are captured, I'd recommend you go back to the gay sites you enjoy so much.

Are you saying your machine is "hot" from the store?

Now that was just un-fuckin'-called-for, xsited. I am surprised you can't stay on topic.

what? I am saying its secure in a way (grsec + pax + hardened userland + my personally coded security modules) that ensures no one is going to compromise it

Where is Eots to explain this outrage?

He's probably laughing with the rest of us at how pathetic Huggy is. His 'thread' is made up mainly of himself and AGaySailor bitching about everything and anything. If there is an award for saddest thread ever, Huggy's gonna walk it. He's such a sad loser boy. He's actually concerned that the Mormons thread is longer than his! How lame is that? At least the Mormons thread has some substance.... The only substance in Huggy's life is the shit he and the Gay one smoke.

Even if drunk? I thought that was a job requirement...

That's what I heard... but I heard it from EZ and she may have been justifying her drunkenness. Who knows... besides Gunny and he ain't sayin.

Nothing is 100% secure. But vBulletin boards are not an attractive target. Anyone with the ability to "hack" it won't waste their time if nothing is in it for them.

If it is who I think it is...there is something in it for them.
If it is who you think it is, it's a script kiddie without anywhere near the skill to cause a vBulletin any problems.

I know your heart aches when I don't respond to your pubescent sociopathic calls for help. Look I want to make this clear. I don't want you...I don't want to know you ...I don't want to "show you mine..so you will show me yours" like the deal you tied to make with a certain administrator and several other weak minded members. Please stop stalking me by trolling threads where you offer nothing but lame attempts to get attention.

You are a major loser despite your supposed IQ. My "thread" is doing just fine. I don't care about the stupid morman thread any more. It was just a goal to pass it and I did. The fact I did with a thread "that has no substance" made the sport that much more appealing to me. This is just the internet twat...nothing here has any substance. The childish games you play by manipulating the mental midgets on this board do not have any value except possibly punitive as the rules you break become visible. I suspect that where ever you came from there is a similar trail of self engrandizing betrayal of the rules that lead to your expulsion. Am I homing in on the truth?
