The media could ignore it then, but they cant ignore his piss poor performance now. Any other candidate would have to be a real numb nuts to not beat him. It will take more then religion, it will take an epic screw up..
Actually, the epic screwup would be nominating Romney.
Race-baiting, "Corporations are people, too", downsizing, "Guy who looks like he lays you off". When you got people who are worried about losing their homes, the last guy you want to nominate a guy with four mansions who complains one of them is too small.
You also work on the assumption that the economy will be as bad as it is now. It might slightly recover.
Point is, Romney is going to get ground up by the liberal media and the conservative media isn't going to be that thrilled with him.
As for Sharptons comments here they are.
Al Sharpton:
As for the one Mormon running for office, those who really believe in God will defeat him anyways, so dont worry about that; thats a temporary situation, Sharpton said during a debate with Hitchens at the New York Public Library.
After that there was no more comments on his (Romneys) religion.
well, of course, they aren't going to talk about it NOW!
You miss the point. The liberal media WANTS Romney to be the GOP nominee. First, he's one of them. Second, they know they can hang his crazy religion around his neck come next November.
But they aren't going to criticize him now. For right now, they'll post a BS story that Perry went to a camp that had a racist epitath in its name 30 years ago...
When the nomination fight is over, you are going to see all sorts of slander stories about Mormons that will sound like I wrote them. You are going to hear about the Mountain Meadows Massacre and Blood Atonement and Eternal Marriage and so on. You'll hear how they think dark skin is a curse from God and blacks weren't given membership until the late seventies.
