Would you have aborted her?

I probably would have aborted the child. She was not expected to survive anywhere near as long as she did and it was known that she would suffer and have numerous problems during her short life. I find the idea of bringing a child into the world to suffer a short life and die with no hope of ever living a full life or experiencing many of the joys of life to be simply an act of cruelty and selfishness on the part of the parents.

I find it funny how many people condemn me for politicizing a tradegy when all I did is ask a question about a real child.. 45,000 people die due to lack of insurance but because they don't have a name or a face, many of you can ignore it.. Many of those 45,000 dead were children.. Since our nation has the highest infant mortality raite, many of them babies.. All ignored because you can't see a name or a face, or where they are from.. Which is why many of you on the right are hypocrits..

As for aborting her? Even though her life was short, she had a right to live her life.. But I wouldn't have condemned the mother if she had chosen an abortion either.. It had to be tough on the parents to watch their child grow up and die..

So what about the second question?? She had no genitals or female organs.. Was she a female or male??

This goes to the gay marriage arguement.. Can a person be genetically one sex while physically another??

45,000 die for lack of insurance, a case by case study of this statistic would demonstrate the truth, the figure alone is simple political propaganda.

Gay marriage arguement, at first i thought you opened a serious debate but you cant seem to focus on your own topic.

Maybe your thread was just a poor attempt at expressing your politcal views.

Adults do not have a right to decide which babies live or die. You take a chance when you have sex, maybe you create a child, maybe not, that is why and what our sexual organs are for, making kids.

Adults have a proven history of doing the wrong thing and second guessing is one of our worst traits.

Once the woman is pregnant no adult has a right to stop life at any stage of development.

Do we allow for a medical emergency, of course.

What should not be allowed is the adults who make bad decisions to make additional bad decisions.

My attempt was to show the hypocrisy of conservatives.. Since everything isn't black and white in real life, there are some grey areas they never like to consider..

The 45,000 dead due to lack of insurance is an accurate statistic, proven by a number of organizations.. But belittle death all you want..

As you can see from this thread, some people would have aborted her.. And some of these people are against abortion.. Which makes the point quite well that there is a situation in which abortion is the right call.. At least to a pro-lifer..

If you read the article, she is without genitals or sex organs.. Much like a hermaphrodite.. So is she a man or a woman? A hermaphrodite is a person without gender. No physical traces of gender.. Yet some are still men or women.. Most all are made into a woman as it is easier to make a hole than it is to make a pole.. I can stay on topic.. These topics are just to serious for you and require a level of intelligence that you seems to lack as you can't follow along..

So?? Who is to say that a person can't be born phsycally one sex, and genetically another?? Truly a woman in a man's body?? Seems possible to me..

No before the next person comes on here and tries to say anything to me in an insulting manner..

READ THE FUCKING ARTICLE SO YOU KNOW WHAT THE FUCK I AM TALKING ABOUT!

Otherwise you are making yourself look like a complete idiot and I will take great pleasure in stomping your brainless ass into the dirt for it.. Read the article..

In just about every advanced country in this world, they do have that right.

In many Third World countries, they do not have that right.

You and those who wish to ban abortion will NOT be be successful in your attempts to create laws in this matter to align us with Third World status.

Really? Do you have any links to the "number of organizations" and their data. The one organization that I have seen admitted that there were flaws with the method they used to determine this number. There is a thread floating around regarding this information, if you are interested.

I'd love to see how these other organizations came up with this number.

Rep. Grayson has used the number to belittle conservatives, but from the best I can determine he has pulled the number out of his ass.

Immie

I find it sad that anyone would destroy life, end life, murder the unborn, a day will come when we understand what causes pregnancy and than we can educate people on how to prevent the creation of life.

As far as the author of this thread goes, what a nut, this poor girl is a tool to talk about abortion, gays, and health care and at the same time the story shows hypocrisy of conservatives. Hang on, watch how easy it is to blast a hole through a fools ideas.

See the hyprocrisy. No grey area here.

I guess we cannot stereotype everything as bad in the third world, thanks for pointing that out.

You need to look up hermaphroditism
So is she a man or a woman? A hermaphrodite is a person without gender

use the search button. This has been discussed a number of times in threads dealing with the matter

Yes, I would have.

Would you care to share your reason(s)?

It's an extremely defective child. If I can avoid having an extremely defective child I will. It's that simple to me.

It that because (A) the child cannot continue your line, (B) you don't want the burden, or some combination thereof?

Also, what level of defection or particular defections would constitute a child so defective that you would terminate, if you can ascribe any semi-objective criteria.

More along the lines of B.

I don't really have standards. It's kinda like porn ... you can't specifically define it but I know it when I see it.

sick, is this what the gay movement has sunk to, to use a girl born with a genetic condition as a poster child for gay marriage.

As far as the 45,000 deaths due to lack of insurance, are you sure it was not 44,945? Its impossible that its excatly 45,000.

Maine girl with ‘mermaid syndrome’ dies at 10
‘Tough little thing’ gained following on Internet, TV

PORTLAND, Maine - Shiloh Pepin, a girl who was born with fused legs, a rare condition often called "mermaid syndrome," and gained a wide following on the Internet and U.S. television, has died. She was 10.

Doctors had predicted she would at most only survive for days after her birth. The girl died at Maine Medical Center on Friday afternoon, hospital spokesman John Lamb said. She had been hospitalized in critical condition for nearly a week.

Being born with "mermaid syndrome," also known as sirenomelia, meant that the Kennebunkport girl had only one partially working kidney, no lower colon or genital organs and legs fused from the waist down.

Also?? With no genital organs? Was she really a she?

I wonder if she liked to swim.

As far as aborting her, what is your point? That doctors are sometimes wrong about how long people will live and what their quality of life will be? Each woman has to make the best decision she can.

Would you have aborted Charles Manson?
