dems control 2/3 of the government? perhaps you need a civics lesson. here, let me help. legislation is created by the House. The House is GOP. If they don't create legislation that is acceptable to the Senate, the Senate will vote it down. If the Senate votes it down, it cannot be signed by the President. Also, there is a little thing called the filibuster. I know the right doesn't like talking about how it's abused the filibuster, but it has. Therefore, one Senator can decide to block legislation even if it gets to the Senate... in which case... guess what... IT DOESN'T GET TO THE PRESIDENT. Unless one has 60 guaranteed votes, there is no "control" over the Senate.

Also, the Senate is not 1/3 of the government. Congress as a whole is 1/3 of the government. It's called the legislative branch. The judiciary branch is another 1/3... that is 5/4 to the right. The executive branch is the final 1/3.
