Woman shot nail salon owner because she was unhappy with cost of mani-pedi, police say

The owner, a 42-year-old Asian man, was airlifted to Memorial Hermann Texas Medical Center in critical but stable condition.

Vara and her 20-year-old sister each got a manicure and pedicure at Katy Nails in Houston on May 29, but started arguing with the owner because they were "unhappy with the price of the services," said a statement from the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

Didn't want to pay the price, and so she shot him, and now she's sitting in jail.

The report does not reveal her race. Can we guess?

WHO CARES? Your own article states that the dispute had NOTHING to do with the owner's RACE. She just happened to be Asian, much as are many nail salons.

I'm sick of this bullshit where every time an Asian gets involved in some sort of incident, the presumption is made that it was some sort of racial "hate crime."

When a white guy gets shot, mugged or robbed, does anyone ever decide it must have happened BECAUSE the guy was white?
