No this is NOT what the book was talking about and she knows it too. Then they wonder why the amount of homeschooling students has gone up. It's because people don't want their children in the care of perverts that's why.

Have you read the book?

Melissa, previously published as George until April 2022, is a children's novel about a young transgender girl written by American author Alex Gino.

The novel tells the story of Melissa, a fourth-grade girl who is struggling to be herself to the rest of the world. The rest of the world sees Melissa as George, a boy.Melissa uses the class play, Charlotte's Web, to show her mom that she is a girl by switching roles with her best friend, and playing the part of Charlotte.

Scholastic first published the novel on August 25, 2015, and it has had a mixed reaction because of its LGBT+ content.

In 2021, Gino retitled the novel Melissa.
You didn't tell the whole truth either, did you? What was the results of the votes and what was the explicit content that was objectionable? So many questions with no answers.

I wouldn't make it required reading, but I think it should be in the middle school library. Of course when I was growing up we were encouraged to read everything.. Most of my classmates had the same kind of parental rules.

Why do you think books about sexual perversion are appropriate for schools? I wouldn't even put classics like Gore Vidal's Myra Breckenridge into a school library either because its inappropriate for children.

There is no legitimate reason to have gay pedophile porn in the school library.
The Trashy Left wants to groom little boys to be gay and/or transsexual, that is why they are demanding to put gay pedophile porn in the school libraries.

I think kids should read anything and everything. The book isn't about sexual perversion if you are looking to be aroused.

Mira Breckenridge wouldn't be for middle school.

They would freak out if they put Rush books in the school libraries.
