Woman Forcibly Sedated, And Baby Stolen From Her Womb By Social Services

Yep, you can't make this shit up.

Italian woman had a break down, and social services obtained a court order, which allowed them to forcibly sedate the woman - without telling her what would happen to her - and when she woke, she was told that her baby had been delivered by caesarean (which she didn't consent to) and the child in care. The baby is now 15 months old and the woman, who is recovering well, is not allowed to have her baby back:

A pregnant woman has had her baby forcibly removed by caesarean section by social workers.

Essex social services obtained a High Court order against the woman that allowed her to be forcibly sedated and her child to be taken from her womb.

The council said it was acting in the best interests of the woman, an Italian who was in Britain on a work trip, because she had suffered a mental breakdown.

The baby girl, now 15 months old, is still in the care of social services, who are refusing to give her back to the mother, even though she claims to have made a full recovery.

What kind of shit is this, Britain? You cannot go around forcing women to give birth, having unnecessary surgeries, just because you think they are not fit to be parents!!!!

Clearly British officials are just as concerned about the incident.

From the cited article:

The case, reported by Christopher Booker in his column in The Sunday Telegraph today, raises fresh questions about the extent of social workers’ powers.

It will be raised in Parliament this week by John Hemming, a Liberal Democrat MP. He chairs the Public Family Law Reform Coordinating Campaign, which wants reform and greater openness in court proceedings involving family matters.

He said: “I have seen a number of cases of abuses of people’s rights in the family courts, but this has to be one of the more extreme.

“It involves the Court of Protection authorising a caesarean section without the person concerned being made aware of what was proposed. I worry about the way these decisions about a person’s mental capacity are being taken without any apparent concern as to the effect on the individual being affected.”

So what happened to your bashing "rightists"? Back peddling a bit are we?

This thread seems have become about socialism, and not about the assault of a woman and the forcible removal of her baby against her will...

And another ignorant rightist chimes in.

Please, then enlighten us with your everloving knowledge about why a baby was forcibly taken by "social" workers eh.

If that is not a symptom of socialism, I don't know what is

Perhaps you should inform the conservative PM of the UK his country is ‘socialist.’

How silly of you.
You can't say, "conservative", you have to say, "republican" so the uneducated twats can understand.

There is something very wrong here.
There is no way in this world a woman should be forced to undergo an operation to force her to give birth, unless there was serious medical need on physical health grounds and the woman was totally mad or otherwise incapable of sorting it out for herself.

For daft social workers to do this should invite arrests and imprisonment for the power mad idiots concerned and the doctors who carried out the operation.

This isn't some malpractice case, the doctors just carried out orders from the state. The state gives the social workers the authority to make those decisions. Blame the socialist government for their tyrannical policies.

you support it if you support socialism.

You should look more deeply into what socialism is

I don't get why anyone thinking that government officials expressing concerned about a travesty after the fact makes things better. This type of shit should never happen, period.

The fact that some people are more concerned about the symptoms, the assault of a woman and the forcible removal of her baby against her will, than the disease, government social policies dictated by socialists, does not mean that the people focused on the cause don't care about what happened, it just means we want to make it impossible for it to ever happen.

This is the "nanny state" in action. Statist Authoritarians just love telling people what to do, when to do, and how to do it.

Patriot Act anyone?
