Wines from which countries have you tasted?

Never been a big wine drinker, but when I had the chance traveling with the Navy, I tried wines from every country that I had heard had good stuff. Turkey, Greece, Italy, France and Spain.

Probably the best stuff I had was from Italy. It was a deep red wine that was thick enough that it looked like red ink in the glass. Second favorite was wines from Spain.

Never tried wine from Germany. And, when I'm in the States, generally the only thing I drink is Scotch (Dalmore 12 year single malt), or beer.

I recommend a German Gewürztraminer. In Germany it is usually sweetish, in France it is dryer.

The Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir with umlaut)is nice.

I prefer Rheinhessen to Rheingau.

I like wine that doesn't wake me up in the middle of the night to relieve myself.

Pinot More, I think they call it.

Thunderbird is a tremendous American wine, particularly to serve on Juneteenth.

Don't forget about Mogen David (Mad Dog).

Combine them both together and you can have either Thunder Dog or Mad Bird.
