Will 2014 be the GOP's last gasp

2012 elections by county. Look at the heavy concentration of Dems in urban areas. This = less congressional districts and control f state houses. This is why Dems are trying to dump immigrants in heartland as a pure political measure. Looks good for GOP in 2016 and beyond.

Empty land doesn't vote, people vote.

What should be worrying you is the spread of blue in the southern states. It will be even bluer after 2016.

Can you say "Republican gerrymandering"?

Land does not vote, people vote
Counties without people in them do not have the same number of congressmen that urban counties do. Each congressional district must have the same number of people

And state legislatures draw up districts. See ya Dems. No grass roots support. People vote in presidential race, but House of Rep and state houses all about geography baby.

Demographics and the GOP Commentary Magazine

Demographics may leave the GOP on the outside looking in after 2014. If the GOP does win the Senate in 2014, it may be there last chance to influence national politics. The changing demographics are going to start breaking down the GOP's decided advantage in winning congressional races though gerrymandering,

Even the reliable Red Texas is beginning to turn Purple. Unless the GOP opens their tent to a great variety of voters, they may be doomed to join the fate of the Whig and the Liberty republican parties.

Your opinion?
Again, the GOP will likely do well in Midterm elections, taking control of the Senate this year.

But yes, over the next several election cycles the GOP will find it increasingly difficult to win elections.

The solution to this is of course clear: republicans need to relegate social conservatives, fiscal extremists, and culture warriors to the Party's sidelines, where they're allowed to express their opinions but do not make the final determination as to the GOP's policy goals and direction.

As long as republicans pursue an agenda hostile to Hispanics, gay Americans, and women, the Party as a whole will be relegated to the National political sidelines.

Republicans are able to gerrymander a House right now. But their ability to gerrymander is diminishing as demographics change

How is the Republican agenda hostile. It's good for business owners, traditional family values, women and Hispanics.

And here's another problem facing the GOP: the ignorance and stupidity of many of its members, this quoted post being one such example.

After Ferguson many independent Whites got a taste of the blatant racism of the left. They will vote GOP.

Here's your problem. You still support a failed lying President who hasn't got a plan. You asswipes are going to be trampled on election day.

This next election is going to be hysterical and historical.
I agree. Democrats are in for a rude awakening. They are a small tent that has pandered to every obscure leftist group in America, thus alienating mainstream voters.

"mainstream voters" AKA old grumpy AWG's.

Too bad that "mainstream voters" will no longer comprise a majority voting bloc in the very near future.

And still only hearing crickets from you when it comes to your policies to attract Black and Hispanic voters. Do I need to get out the 3 hour version of the Jeopardy music?

and here's the problem with Dems^^^^^^^^ and you need to ask yourself.... do you still want someone as ugly as this Democrat running your lives? Because that is what the Democrat party thinks of all you out there in middle America

Geography does work against the Democrats in the House. At the state level it's much less clear.
