There's been a war in Yemen for hundreds of years, but before Russian economy fell it supported South Yemen. When the economy fell they forgot.

Then they began whining about how US should not be intruding in Yemen. Technically it's Saudi-Arabia that leads the thing, but Russia rarely forgets to mention the support US has granted them, though they've been supported by much of the Middle East at some point - not Iran, Iran hates Saudi Arabia and rumours about them with the same loose principles Russia has in "reporting".

Before Russia's intervention in Syria it was this kind of talking about Yemen for instance. In between 2000-2012 you'll find more by search,

The point is it was so wrong but in Syria it was clearly the only thing " no one else will help kill these poor people". And the wars aren't that different except that Syrian war has gone way out of proportion and Russia's goal is clearly not defeating ISIS and not even defending Assad.

A year ago 70% of the bombing Russia had done, had not been at ISIS and at the time they were all about talking of defeating ISIS. They at the same time boasted of having the best technique in their planes which proved, so I understood, that they're a good sport hitting well the right places, like hospitals and children. And since it is practically evident Assad has made the chemical weapon strikes at the civilians, Russians must support that.

Yet, a year ago Russia actually said that their bombs had killed zero civilians. :eusa_think:zero. It was a bit shameless.

Well because US sometimes kills the wrong people, civilians or the wrong personnel, they have been cutting the drone strikes. But now Trump will return to Yemen.

Talking out of both sides of their mouth and touting their own supremacy isn't out of the ordinary for the Russian government. Neither of those things is uncommon for at least one figure in the U.S. government. Birds of a feather.....
