So if someone brought a test to you and said they wanted to run it, you would just say go ahead? I don't know what it is. I don't know what it will do. I don't know why. So just go ahead and run it. If something bad happens, I guess we'll find out.

I would say something like..."GET THAT THING AWAY FROM ME!!! Take it down to the janitors office, he'll know what to do with it".....I mean whats a guy to do under those circumstances? right?

Perry's dodge is that he no longer wants to get rid of the Department of Energy, now that he knows what it does,
meaning that back when he wanted to get rid of it, that was based on pure ignorance. By his own admission.

It's also very revealing about Republicans in general - their big talk about getting rid of federal agencies is 100% bullshit.
