Why does the left count the ACA as one of Obama's successes?

My son had an allergic reaction to hazel nuts on Friday night. Threw up and broke out in a rash. Took him to the local A&E, they observed him for three hours, let him go. Didn't cost a cent...oh, woe is me...'socialised' medicine....

Not sure what an A&E is so need some explanation on that.

But for the rest of your post you obviously don't provide insurance for your child. Not your job it's someone else's right?

Didn't cost you a cent though and that's the important thing. You didn't have to pay anything for someone to "observe" your child's allergic reaction yet they didn't really do anything other than sit there and watch to see if he dies or not. Health issue resolved? No not really but hey he was "observed" and luckily got sent home with no explanation of what happened or how to prevent it in the future but yay for you, it cost you nothing!

This is socialized medicine at it's most basic function and what you people are hoping for. Not a solution, not a diagnosis but rather an observation that doesn't cost you anything.

Glad you don't live here. 48 million are supposedly uninsured and the libs are screamin success when 4 million enroll....most who had insurance before the policies were canceled.
This wasn't about socializing healthcare, it was about insuring those that were without....it has been a failure.
Overall objective IS to run the healthcare companies out of business....so government may complete their control over the lives of the surfs. Control their healthcare? The ultimate PRIZE...you got their lives and the citizens by the balls.

Exactly!

Meanwhile, on planet Earth, 3 million plus get Medicaid now, all but 500k of those that INSURERS cancelled are now covered again, success has only been delayed...2 million under 26 are now covered on their parents, etc etc. The only failures have been the websites computer company, Pubs and insurers cooperating, and our disgraceful media explaining ANYTHING...

It'll be fine, hater dupes- sorry about your luck lol...zzzzzz.

Like MLK, it will be one of those things that the GOP will attempt to take credit for a couple of generations from now.

Did you say something? zzzzzzzzzz

Because for nearly a century in this country, US presidents have been trying, with little or no success, to pass a National Healthcare Act.

Obama got it done.

That's why.

THAT is pure unadulterated :bsflag:on both accounts

so, please stop spreading propaganda, otherwise known in America as :bsflag:

:fu:

What a load of bollocks. Stop seeing reds under the bed. The Govt does not want to control your life, they want people to get medical care when they need it. Their only crime is they're not selfish nor are they all about "me. me. me" like you neocon whackjobs are... "I can look after myself! I need nobody! I am a rock! I am an island!" Well fuck off and go and live on one then....

1) I live in Australia
2) A&E stands for Accident and Emergency
3) We have health insurance, too. It covers (some) aspects of a hospital stay but not visits to GPs etc (no health insurance in Australia does) - we have medicare which gives you back a certain percentage of doctors visits etc
4) They took all his vitals, gave him a cardiogram (he had slight chest discomfort from throwing up). The issue was resolved
5) It does cost me. We have been in Australia for seven years (from NZ originally). Since that time, as a family, we have visited A&E on four occasions. My youngest son also had a minor operation to get a piece of oyster out of his hand which had become infected. The cost of the visits and the operations combined have cost the govt about $11,000. In that time my wife and I have shelled out the best part of $320,000 in tax to the govt. Going by the state of our roads and how much a waste of space politicians are, I'd say both our state (New South Wales) and federal govts have come out on top.
6) I like the public system. Sure, I'm paying taxes that somebody else is using in the health system, but eventually it'll be my turn. That's how it works.
7) Both the NZ and Australian health systems are pretty similar. Growing up, both were pretty much okay with the odd person whining. Over the past 25 years health insurers have come into the picture and all I can say is things haven't got better because of them. Except in one instance. We had health insurance in NZ called Southern Cross. You know a couple of great thing about it? It didn't cost the Earth; you automatically became a part owner of it when you joined; and it was non-profit. That's right NON PROFIT. And it worked a treat.

You said it, now just prove it...and please no wiki. If he was a dem there would be plenty of other sources you could use, duped.

Even his wife stated he wasn't a dem.

It's a stumble in the right direction. Rome wasn't built in a day.

Seems more like a huge leap in the wrong direction. Why not just target the uninsured rather than screwing up the entire system?
Because the entire system is what's broken.

system what "system" ? there never was a "system" concerning "health care", other than Medicare, and if we went back to the original intent of Medicare and pay as you go, i.e., many Doctors once accepted monthly payments.

then in the 1960's when the LBJ regime started fucking with Medicare and damn near everything else, was the seed that grew into the monster of what liberalism is today.

I'm not a democrat either. MLK's feelings are much more embraced by Democrats than Republicans; There are something like 108 minority-majority districts in the House. These are districts where there are fewer than 50% whites in the district. According to John Dickerson of Slate/CBS, the Dems represent 99 of the 108.

Are you saying that MLK was a Republican? Yes or no.

Not sure if he was a repub. He voted both ways from what I remember reading....years ago.
I'm not so sure that MLK would embrace the dems of today, Candy.
He was for equal rights, not free handouts
