There's absolutely no record of Jesus of Nazareth for 30 years. His entire documented story took place in about a year and a half and then by close friends and family. Kinda reminds me of someone who got married, never was seen again till one day showed up and asked for a divorce. Fair enough. But I think you have serious personal issues with religion. I am a former Christian that has them as well. However, I have long since gotten over them and prefer to try and be as tolerant a person as I can be. That is how I honor my founding fathers. I have no agenda to steer my children away from faith. I think that you do. I think that whatever psychological damage you may have suffered makes you less tolerant. I get it and I understand.

Unfortunately, and I know you won't want to hear this, it also calls your rationality into question. It is clear that you have a personal bone to pick with religion and so it is important for you to condemn it. While I sometimes struggle with this myself, I try to evaluate belief and behavior on their own terms as best I can. You kind of have to. Otherwise you are going to hold onto this anger until it irreversibly poisons you. Our founders did their best to establish a nation of laws. Most of them also cherished tolerance. Despite this, it is a constant struggle for people to overcome their prejudices, which is exactly why a nation of laws and not men is so important.
