Why do republicans support corporate welfare but do not support welfare for the poor?

Now, granted some democrats support corporate welfare as well for some insane reason, but democrats by and large support welfare for the very poor.

The average person on food stamps makes $744 a MONTH per household and receive $133 per month on average from the program. 76% of welfare recipients have at least one dependent living in the household.

SNAP (Food Stamps): Facts, Myths and Realities

Now why is it that republicans seek to cut these programs but have no problem with corporate welfare? The answer is easy: they are corrupt, self-interested scumbags. :eusa_whistle:

Because poor people don't donate to campaign coffers.

Why do Democrats support both?

We shouldn't be doing either.

Even with SNAP assistance, anyone on the program lives a miserable life.

Yep! Driving their Cadillac SUV, talking on their Iphone, kids playing X-Box with the three flat screen TV's and cable and internet.

Got to be miserable.

Corporate welfare is bipartisan, not just a Republican thing.

I have run two faith-based non-profits and have helped a lot of poor. I have never seen this manufactured poor person with a Cadillac SUV you describe. Your made up bullshit is far from the norm.

The poor I have helped are people who live in places like broken down pickups with a camper shell, where they wear five coats to keep out the cold. Then there were the people living in an apartment with bare concrete floors, and they used carpet fragments to sit on the cold floor since they had no furniture. There are landlords who abuse the shit out of their poor tenants.

Countless others who live in second- or third-hand trailers.

Many more who live with relatives until the proverbial "get back on their feet" thing happens. Oftentimes, the children are separated and spread out among various family members.

I assume you realize that one of the biggest supporters of the Food Stamp program is large agri businesses.

Ever see Bill and Hilary Clinton in your so called help for the poor?

Some Republicans support corporate welfare. All Democrats support it, usually under the guise of "infrastucture building" or "investing in science and education."

Wow sarcasm always goes over the heads of the far left..

Giving corporations an incentive to settle in a locality is what is called corporate welfare. The corporation employs people who pay taxes, pay for services, buy houses and contribute to the prosperity of the community. Welfare does none of these things. Areas that have a high percentage of welfare recipients are depressed with a high incidence of crime.

No, that is the poor in general. Very few poor people even qualify for food stamps.
