Why do Republicans hate entitlements - except for the rich?

The Republican message about Entitlements is consistent. No matter what the topic, what the media, what the question...the reply is to end Entitlements. When you ask Republicans to explain their vaunted "values", the ultimate effort is to combat Entitlements. Every lie, every sleazy PR tactic, every mile of astroturf, every phony "popular uprising" are simply means justifying the holy Crusade (which often literally involves hoisting the Cross, or other religious symbols). Republicans are demanding their own Entitlement: the entitlement of the rich to channel all resources into maximizing their personal wealth.

Why Do Democrats ask the same stupid, Loaded, Inaccurate Questions and expect a real Debate in response.

Why should I waste my time explain how you are wrong, and we do not hate entitlements. Would you even read what when It if I said what we want to do is make them sustainable for the long run, and make sure they are not being abused.

Infants like you, who can do nothing but keep repeating liberal lies and talking points. Really are not worth arguing with. The Average American understand that the cost of SS, and MC are going no where but up, and that we as a Nation and an economy simply can not sustain them currently. Reform must be done. Costs most be controlled or Nobody will have SS or MC at all.

Look I wasted a whole 2 mins responding to this Infant when I started out saying I shouldn't lol.

Here's the funny thing about rich people: Without the poor and middle class buying most of the stuff they sell - there would be no rich people.
Which is why America cannot survive without poor Africans buying all our crap? Even the poorest American on welfare is rich by African standards.

And without rich people, all are poor. The rich and poor must work together for an economy to grow, capital and labor uniting to build a country. Fighting over scraps will lead us to ruin.

and with out the so called "rich" selling shit, and making shit to sell. The Poor and middle class would have no jobs, and no Fucking money to buy shit.

Hey! let's increase GDP by smashing all the windows too! Let's wreck a few cars and blow up a few buildings! That'll REALLY get things rolling! After all, insurance companies pay for that. Oh wait, we're all on unemployment improving the fucking economy!

Take a laxative so you can pull your head out and get a clean breath.
Democratic shills keep posting this uneducated garbage, and then wonder why they can't fix the economy? They wonder why the market crashes every time they open their mouths? They wonder why the S&P is downgrading our debt rating?

Fucking morons don't know supply and demand from their own asscracks.

Righties even seem unable to grasp that $1.00 of unemployment insurance benefits provides a bang for the buck of $1.61—that is, for every $1 in UI benefits, GDP one year later is increased by an estimated $1.61.

Please stop trying to get that tired dog to hunt...nobody bought it when Nancy Pelosi trotted it out a year and a half ago and nobody (with a whit of common sense) buys it now.

Using their warped logic, The Stimulus should have grown GDP by 1.2 Trillion dollars last year alone.

How's that working out.

Assholes.

I mean Fuck you, Sitting here trying to sell us snake oil. This is the 21st century assholes. You can't look us in the eye and spew complete horse shit, and think we will believe it. That dog not only don't hunt, the tired ass fucker can't even get up to shit.

Indeed. Progressives don't seem to understand that poverty is the natural state of man, and it takes much effort, both on the part of intelligent "rich" investors and hard-working laborers, to grow an economy. Demonizing labor, or demonizing rich capitalists, both will cripple the economy.

The asshats in Washington don't care, they're targeting the rich to distract American from their own failures. Fortunately, the S&P isn't easily fooled.

Nope. To them all events that are politically relevant occur in a vacuum. Job numbers don't attach to poverty or welfare. Rich people don't attach to GDP. They're all isolated phenomenon that nobody can see inter-connectivity to if it's politically uncomfortable for them. But if they can score points? Boy howdy can they follow a trail like a coonhound following a raccoon wrapped in bacon ignoring everything else for their own political ends, up to and including falling off the cliff in pursuit.

That's the beauty of economics. After a certain point, politics loses to the gravity that is mathematics.

That is generally true, but where's the gratitude?

There wouldn't be any poor or middle class either, turd. All you've said is that if the human race didn't exist, there wouldn't be any rich people

No duh!

I understand supply and demand perfectly well. And the reason employers are not hiring is because there simply is not enough demand for their products. Lowering taxes for the wealthy is not going to change that either. We have hit a point where the baby boomers have drastically reduced their spending, for a very basic reason; they're done raising their kids and now they are saving for retirement. For the rest of the middle class, their earnings have stagnated for years, and now they are being squeezed, so they don't have enough to spend other than for the basics. This is why employers are not hiring and why there is so little demand. To make matters worse, we have cut taxes as much as we can, to the point that we can't cut them any more for the middle or low income earners. And as I said, lowering them further for the wealthy won't help either, because that will not create demand for anything. We are in for a long rough ride.

Righties are so special. Special Olympics special...
I love your irony.

As E7 said, the left wing whackjob sites know just enough about economic factors and too little about them at the same time. They post their inanities and we can all count on parrots like you to repost them.

It's like shit with wings.

I am an American. That's the way most of us put it, just matter of factly. They are plain words, those four. You could write them on your thumbnail, or you could sweep them clear across a bright autumn sky. But remember too, that they are more than words. They are a way of life. So whenever you speak them, speak them firmly; speak them proudly; speak them gratefully. I am an American. ... a tradition

Right on! Then, wave the American flag and invade another country.

Agreed......

For THIRTY FUCKING YEARS we have been giving the rich tax break after tax break and it has been doing nothing but increasing our deficit and creating class warfare. We've gotten to the point where Warren Buffet pays less percentage than his secretary.

It's time to let the Bush tax cuts EXPIRE.

.

There is way more entitlements for the poor, ie welfare, wic, free education . Section 8 houses , food stamps.. That is just to name a few and the Rich earned their money others are just given to them. I am neither Rich or Poor. I a smack dab in the middle. Hubby worked his butt off 25 years in the navy and now is working his butt after navy retirement. Could we live on his retirement alone mostly likely yes but we do not want to live pay check to pay check plus we want to put our kids through college with our student loans. We do not qualify for any grants ( make to much) I would love to see my kids come out of college without owing anything to anyone but them selves.!! And last but not least MOST(not) all have earned every penny they earned !!

In order to have this kind of economic system that we have had continue to thrive, we're going to need to find some way to get people back to work and working at rates which give them a fair amount of DISPOSABLE incomes.

There are, however, alternative economic systems which do NOT require a working/consuming class.

The Anti-bellum SOUTH's system of capitalism was based on SLAVERY and did not need a large vibrant middle class to thrive.

There's a LOT of different ways to share the wealth, folks, and still have a economic system vaguely based on capitalism.

We could have very explotive capitalistic feudalism, for example, much like the third world nations typically had.

We could have semi-socialistic capitalism, much like nations like Sweden have, too.

It's up to the people (if you believe in representational forms of governance) or to the whomsoever has the power (if the government isn't representational) to create the KIND of society and the KIND of economic system that a society will use.

One thing seems very obvious to me.

No modern nation can have a representational (read: reasonably democratic) form of government unless it ALSO has a reasonably affluent middle class to support it.

Having political freedom without also having enough people who also have a reasonable degree of economic freedom is basically not possible.

An economic explotiative society inevitably leads to a politically exploitative society AND vice versa.
