Why do liberals pick the worst version of arguments to respond to?

It's certainly the easy way out for Liberals to dismiss all of the corruption in our government with "Trump is a liar".

Nope. Trump IS a liar,

But the GOP is a deeply corrupt organization even without him. You Trumpers know that. It's why you voted for Trump in the first place.

A pretty stupid reaction to a real problem

Both parties are deeply corrupt.
Nonsense.

Republicans are a nearly all white party that now represents the worst of white nationalists America has to offer.

Democrats are a coalition party of everyone else. Republicans keep trying to divide the Democratic Party with such racist schemes as saying blacks are on the Democratic plantation. Only African Americans are a really important part of the party, as the last president proved. Democrats want to help America. Republicans publicly boasted they would do everything they could to bring down Obama even if it hurt America. And they didn't care about the US. All of us remember. We haven't forgotten.

It has nothing to do with the voters of both parties.
It's about how both parties are controlled and their rules of how things are run.
Both parties are corrupt and controlled by money.
Both parties need to stop add on bills, to other bills, that would have not passed on just their own.
Both parties are corrupt.
We need two new parties.

We saw this same thing with the corruption of the Bush Administration with the Jack Abramoff scandal.

The Republicans all tried to claim it "both sides" but it wasn't of course. WIth the GOP it was institutional

Has anybody ever noticed this?

If you want to really engage someone on the Left, all you have to do is speak in soundbites that convey only a passing acquaintance with a subject and they'll talk to you all day. Or whenever someone on the Left decides to dismantle a conservative argument, they pick the most simplistic, weak-tea version of the argument to address.

Remember how much discussion there was around the Obamacare debates? There were plenty of people on the right making "smart" arguments about why Obamacare was bad policy. But which argument and which version of the opposition did you mostly hear? Sarah Palin wrote on Facebook that she didn't want her baby to have to go before Obama's "death panel".

There have been plenty of studies debunking many of the alarmist claims regarding global warming. But many on the Left would rather wait for someone to mention the Bible or say it was hot last January and then act like that's the only thing anybody's said.

Cherry-picking strawman arguments is not a good indicator of intellect, but so many people on the left think they're smart because they wait until the silliest version of an argument comes through so they can dismiss the argument altogether.

I actually think this tendency backfired and it's what caused Trump to win. The media thought they were going to do to Trump what they did to Bush, Palin, Christine O'Donnell, Todd Akin, and many other Republicans, which is bang the gong over everything he says. But Trump was smart to stick to his guns and not apologize and people respected his plainspokenness, candor, and guts.

Don't you mean the racists base of the Republican Party liked his lies, his racism and his ignorance? Because Donald Trunmp doesn't know the meaning of the word "candor". He lies more than any human being I've ever seen.

And guts? The guy who refuses to visit the troops abroad, because he's scared? Captain Bone Spur?

Where do you want Trump to go overseas? His generals don't want him in Iraq and Afghanistan because of all the terrorists infiltrating our allies over there.

Trump lying his ass off is neither 'plainspokenness', nor 'candor', nor 'guts'. But deception and cowardice.

Oh please. I'm talking about the media's tendency to play up his so-called gaffes and controversial statements. He didn't tuck his tail and run over the "Mexican rapists" thing (which was an example of what I'm referring to), or his "good people on both sides" thing (another example), or his idea about a travel ban (whadda ya know? Another example). What he said made more sense than the Left cared to admit, which is why they still don't understand why he won.

And I'm talking about far more than just gaffes. I'm talking about wildly racist statements....like when referring to mexican illegals, insisting 'they're rapists'. (Illegals commit crimes at a lower rate than the general populous)

Or batshit conspiracy theories like Trump's claim that he won the popular vote (he didn't) and that there were '3 to 5 million illegals voting. (His 'Election Intregrity Commission' disbanded with zero evidence backing his claim).

And even casual lies.

Like his bizarre claim that 10 terrorists were recently caught trying to cross the border when talking about the Mexican border wall. (The Government couldn't cite even one recent instance of a terrorist being caught trying to cross the Mexican border).

Or that NBC's ratings were 'punished' after they were caught 'fudging' their the Holt interview. (No fudge, no punishment)

Or his claim that California wildfires were magnified by 'diverting water the Pacific ocean'. (Um....does he mean rivers?)

Or his claim that the meeting between a Russian Operative and his campaign team in Trump Tower before the election was about 'adoption'. (He later admitted it was to collect dirt on Hillary)

Or he has the exact same family separation policy as Obama did. (He doesn't)

Or that anyone that says that the November 8th election wasn't a great day for republicans is 'fake news'. (Republicans lost the House)

That every democrat in the senate had signed up for open borders in a bill called the 'open borders bill'. (No such bill exists)

Or when he said that he didn't have any business deals in Russia. (His organization was still pursuing Trump Tower Moscow, including direct appeals to Vladimir Putin)

Or when he said he had no relationship with Putin....after saying he had a great relationship with Putin. (At least one of his statement was a lie)

Or when he claimed that US steel had just announced it was building 6 new steel mills (they hadn't)

Or when he insisted that they had the highest poll numbers for republicans in history including honest abe Lincoln and Ronald Reagan. (they didn't)

When he said that the Electoral College was 'much more advantageous to Democrats'. (Of the 5 presidents who lost the popular vote but won because of the Electoral college, 4 were republicans. None were democrats)

That he'd watched ICE liberate towns from MS-13. (Imaginary)

That crime in Germany was way up (it was down 9.6%)

That he was totally against the Iraq war (he wasn't)

That the opiod scourge was way down ( overdoses were up 15% for opiods, up 57% for synthetic opiods)

That Nacy Pelosi came out in favor of MS-13 (She didn't).

When he claimed that James Clapper said that the FBI was spying on the Trump campaign (He didn't)

When he said that North Korea had agreed to denuclearaization (It hadn't)

When he said 'no' when asked if Russia was still targeting the US. (They were and are)

When he said if one person at the Pulse Night club had had a gun and knew how to use it, the attack wouldn't have happened (the shooter exchanged fire with an armed guard while 49 were killed)

When he said that republicans had enacted the biggest tax cut in history (They hadn't).

That there was substantial evidence of voter fraud (there wasn't).

That Diane Feinstein said there was no collusion between Trump and Russia (She didn't).

That Missouri was one of 13 states with the lowest unemployment in their history (It wasn't.)

That black home ownership was at its highest rate in history (It peaked in 2004 and has been down every year since, now 1/6th off its high)

When Trump claimed that there weren't many protestors outside his speech in Phoniex (there were 10s of thousands of protestors)

When he claimed that they'd signed more piece of legislation into law than any president in history (he wasn't even close)

That his job approval ratings weren't bad relative to other presidents at that point in their presidencies (Trump had the lowest in at least 7 decades, 22 points below the average).

That John Podesta denied the FBI access to the DNC server (John Podesta didn't chair the DNC. He chaired Hillary's campaign.)

That all pipelines that come into America now have to be American steel (they don't).

That when you look for a job, you can't find it and you give up. You are now considered statistically employed. (You're not)

That he didn't know anything about payments to Stormy Daniels (He did)

That the NSA and the FBI tell congress that Russia didn't influence the electoral process (they didn't)

That Germany owes vast sums of money to NATO (they don't)

When he said 'look what happened in Sweden'. That they were having problems that no one thought possible. (Nothing had happened)

That the US was the highest developed nation taxed in the world (We're not even in the top 10).

That only 109 people were effected by his travel ban (it was at least 60,000)

That homicide rates in Phili were 'terribly increasing' (they were down over 40% from their peak in the 90s)

That Americans don't care at all about his tax returns (a poll at the time put the number who did care at clse to 65%)

That Hillary Clinton and her campaign started the birther conspiracy (they didn't)

That the NY Times sent an apology letter to their subscribers for their bad coverage of Trump (they didn't).

When Trump said that he didn't benefit from the republican tax cuts (baseless at best, a flat out lie at worst)

That the media 'never show crowds' (they do).

That twitter, google and facebook were burying FBI investigation of Hillary (they weren't).

That 14% of non-citizens are registered to vote (they aren't)

That the murder rate is the highest its been in 47 years (its was down over 40% from a 1993 high, despite a 25% population increase).

These aren't 'gaffes'. Its an endless stream of pathological lies, made up nonsense, and systematic deception from a man that has over 5000 false or misleading statements.

None of which is 'plainspokenness', nor 'candor', nor 'guts'. But, exactly as I said....deception and cowardice.

So are you saying that blacks are not on the Democrat plantation? If so, why do blacks vote well over 90% Democrat?

You don't help America by ushering in foreigners willing to do jobs Americans could do only for less money.

I find the left boring, I heard everything they say today 30 years ago.
Back in the day, Liberals used to have game and would actually discuss things without getting hysterical or shutting down. Not sure what happened to them but it certainly is not good for America.

And he still got 3,000,000 fewer votes than Hillary.

Thank you for making my point:

When they are faced with logic, they break down. It results in name calling, bringing up race no matter if the discussion is about race or not, homophobia, xenophobia or responding by giving you a laundry list of things you couldn't possibly read and respond to individually.

TL; DR..

Fuck your bloviating self.

Wallow in self imposed ignorance.

Thank you for making my point:

When they are faced with logic, they break down. It results in name calling, bringing up race no matter if the discussion is about race or not, homophobia, xenophobia or responding by giving you a laundry list of things you couldn't possibly read and respond to individually.

Feel free to pick your favorites and respond to them individually. As its entirely possible.
