It would be so much easier for you to just accept the truth and improve your party.

Too many Republicans to follow blindly, speak Tea Bag instead of think, think that in no way the Dems can be a loyal opposition. That is stupid, because not enough Republicans exist to win elections alone on the name. The party needs the middle. We lost the middle in 2008, and we lost the election. We got the middle in NJ and VA against very weak Dem opponents, and we won.

We cannot win with the extreme reactionary right controlling the agenda: that happens, we lose again in 2012.

Now the Dems have their problems as well, and I think we should capitalize on them.

In your opinion, what do we need to be doing to hang onto our conservatives (I am not talking about the reactionary whackos like the Rushtoids or the Seantoids) and appeal to the middle?

Two things:

1. A complete Repudiation of the 2000-2006 years needs to happen. The GOP needs to show the DeLay's, Frists, Roves, Cheneys, and Bushs the door and make it clear to the American Public that folks that claim to be small government but run up the debt as soon as they get the checkbook will get the door.

2. Single out Conservative Blue Dog Democrats and try to work with them. The American People want to know that we'll see an end to this partisan crap that has frozen the Government for so long.

Those are the two big things I'd be looking for.

Like the Dems, they should drive buses through black neighborhoods, pick up as many as the bus will hold and promise them a free fried chicken dinner after they vote.......... guess who they will vote for.

I worked for Edwin Edwards campaign in the 80s, he had buses going to black neighborhoods all day on election day. They would bring them to Churches Chicken after thy voted........ the buses had huge signs inside and out pushing Edwards for Governor.

In my opinion, anyone sucking off of the government's teet should lose their right to vote, that includes all races and wealth. If you have government contracts...... no vote. Government grants for your "global warming" studies, no vote. Food stamps, no vote. Government employees and their families should also lose their right to vote while they serve, that includes the current asshole that lives on Air Force One, his dip shit wife and all of the jerks in Congress.

The only exceptions to the government employee rule would be military personnel, firemen and policemen.
