"Why Aren't Christians More Like Jesus!?!?"--A Blistering BB Article

That is not the debate or issue. The issue is whether Jesus would want the Government collecting taxes and distributing to the poor.

If Jesus had existed (He probably didn't), based on what is in the bible, um, yeah, he'd have no problem with wealth redistribution.

There are many absolute proofs Jesus existed indeed.

Um, yeah, the book with the Talking Snakes and the Giants I can't take terribly seriously.

But even if I did take the Bible seriously, even the text of the bible has contradictions.

Was Jesus from Nazareth or Judea?

Was he born in 4 BCE (as Matthew says, before the death of Herod the Great) or in 6 AD, during the governorship of Quirinius, as Luke says? What year was he crucified in?

The Gospels also can't agree on the names of his Disciples, or a lot of other key facts. For instance, all the Gospels talk about his "Miracles", but only one miracle appears in all four gospels.

That is not the debate or issue. The issue is whether Jesus would want the Government collecting taxes and distributing to the poor.
You mean distributing to the rich, like in the US.
The poor dont pay taxes dumbass
Government programs favor the rich. Asswipe.

Yeah, kind of, and considering the Rich are greedy according to the Bible as a "Sin"
&
In a lot of cases the Rich are even more Sinful, and or non-Conservative profiting off of hiring people at poverty wages, which isn't to be understood by especially big Corporations who can afford more.
or
how they hire Illegal Criminals, Outsourcing jobs made in America, or the Porn industry, Media Liberalism, Hollywood Liberalism, or Social Media Liberalism.

It's a bit of a mystery why they are so pro-Greed & Rich, even though it's completely against everything they claim to stand for.

Since you brought up greed as a sin, here are two others: Sloth and Envy. Sloth or laziness is being committed by the able-bodied person’s choosing to be “poor” so they can take from Church and State. Envy to those who feel entitled to a rich person’s wealth because they have nicer cars and big homes.

Jesus certainly wasn't much of a Capitalist, speaking of giving to the poor, against greed, and going nuts in a Bank.

To say most poor people chose to be poor is absurd, So long as the minimum wage dictates that some of the hardest jobs in America are poverty wages.

So, actually the market demands what it demands, and so long as it demands certain people to be paid in poverty wages,
then it's not a lot of peoples faults.

I don't know where you guys get your thoughts from, if you think much at all, but certainly you aren't following Jesus, or even logic for that matter.

The system of Capitalism is one of Sin, because it's all about Greed.

I did not say most poor choose to become poor. I said there are those that choose. Just like not all rich people choose greed. To say so would be absurd. There are those wealthy who are generous and redistribute their wealth.

How can Jesus be a Capitalist?

12 Jesus entered the temple courts and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves.

What Jesus said about money

Let’s take a look at texts like Matthew 17: 27.

But so that we may not cause offense, go to the lake and throw out your line. Take the first fish you catch; open its mouth and you will find a four-drachma coin. Take it and give it to them for my tax and yours.

MATTHEW 17:27

Where did He overturn the equipment and works of a Carpenter like his father, Joseph? Where did He throw out the catch of fishermen or farmers? Where did He trash the estates of landowners?

He would not want it being done by the Government.

And what do you base that on? If anything, the Roman system (Give unto Caesar) was an ancient version of the welfare state. (Bread and Circuses).

Where was Caesar the welfare state? I base my premise on Jesus clearly stating that people should give to the poor since the money is God’s. Didn’t say anything about the role of caesar in that.

But that's not what Jesus said. Jesus said that the Temple Tax should be paid because Caesar's picture was on the coin. "Render unto Ceasar what is Ceasar's"

The Romans used that money to build aqueducts and public safety and relief for the poor. In short, the welfare state.

Ask me a question??

Why so you can Google it Jackboots? Your illiteracy is obvious with every post.

No I have it memorized, not like Protestants , I remember the book and chapter. You Protestants memorize one liners.

Penny Jackboots claims she has the entire Gospels memorized

Sure Penny sure because you cannot use even proper elementary English grammar here, but sure 'nough you have the entire books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John memorized chapter and verse

What denomination is Penny?

She grew up Catholic but is not Christian now. Word on the street is that her husband is Muslim which makes sense, and which I have asked her before--fits with her super liberal views and esp. her hatred of Jews and Holocaust denial.

She can come along and confirm, deny or remain silent.

Her name is SHERI.

That is loose interpretation. The poor and everyone else benefited from infrastructure. I’m stil looking for where Caeser redistributed the wealth for poor to be clothed, fed, and taken care of. They did not do that. Today, Jesus would have a major issue with the State using his name to get people to pay more money and then the State pay themselves and cronies handsomely before it reaching the poor. The Statists have issue with Christians telling the state that they will give directly to the poor and not for the state to take more money from them for that cause. Finally, if the teachings of Jesus are so great, why were they removed from the State schools? Keep cherry picking.

True to form, Joe B can't help but fulfill the SATIRE in the OP....where the mockery is people thinking Jesus said to "try more socialism"

Don't forget the slaves.

Again, Bread and Circuses... The Roman state DID feed people. If you look at the Emperors who were truly hated by the Senatorial Class, like Caligula and Nero, it was because they took money from the rich and spent it on games and free food.

Today, Jesus would have a major issue with the State using his name to get people to pay more money and then the State pay themselves and cronies handsomely before it reaching the poor.

Again, where do you back that up. Jesus did have a big problem with rich people. "It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God".

The Statists have issue with Christians telling the state that they will give directly to the poor and not for the state to take more money from them for that cause.

Naw, what we have a problem with is you guys telling women what they should do with their genitalia.

Backwards ass bronze age superstitions aren't needed to tell people to be nice to each other.

Naw, silly is thinking Jesus said, "Hate on Gays and Mexicans", which describes the evangelicals perfectly.

"For the word of the Cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God."--1 Corinthians 1:18
Too bad no one here has any empirical evidence for god. I win again.

You can win all day long, Taz. You can win against me. You can even perceive that you win against God. That's fine. You didn't make your life and you don't determine it's eternal destiny. Until then, you have freedom to make posts like this.
But isn't it my destiny to do posts like that? The way god wants me to do it?

There is a lot of tension between pre-destination and free will. We know that God did pre-determine those He would save--that many believe that, many Christians. For me, I hold on to the rest very loosely, because if God is God He knows and can understand infinitely more than I do, and it's foolish for me to think I can figure out all the answers--or would need to--in the years I'm here.

"For now we see through a glass darkly, but then face to face: now I know in part; but then I shall know even as I am known."--1 Corinthians 13:12

Imagine that. I can't wait. :)
You can't wait to die. It's a cult of death. Which you're in even if you admit to not understanding wtf they are talking about. Pretty sad really.

I thought the same thing when she said "I can't wait".

This for me is actually one of the biggest differences between my pre-Christian life and now. I understand and know that this life is not all there is.
