If anyone is holding hostages, it's House Republicans. They KNOW this bill won't get throught the Senate; they KNOW Obama wouldn't sign it. They can pass a continuing resolution without their wet-dream idea that Obamacare will go away just because they voted to do it in for the 42nd time. They're trying to make a point...I guess. But the only message they're sending is that they're willing to risk damaging an already fragile economy just because they don't like Obama or Obamacare. Actually, the latest Rasmussen poll from 9/17 shows a majority of Americans favor a gov't shutdown until ACA funding is stripped.

The more people find out about ACA, the less they want it.. it's a clusterfuck of epic proportions.

Funding such a measure has nothing to do with the current budget considerations.

It doesn't matter if it is fully implemented or not. It is a law, passed by Congress, signed by the President and even upheld by the SCOTUS. The analogy holds for whatever law you want to use. If George Bush had any "signature legislation" I could use that as an analogy, but alas.

Use the funding of Iraq, Medicare Part D, whatever but switch it around and the GOP would be pitching a fit and falling into it about the treasonous, terrorist actions of the Democrats.
