Who should pay the most taxes?

I think the ones who should pay higher taxes are:

people buying Ferraris
people buying mink coats
people buying lobster every week

and I could go on and on

Food (other than that) should not be taxed. I don't think fast food should be taxed. Cigarettes should be taxed up the nose to keep people from smoking
Tax all income as regular income.
Eliminate upper limit on FICA.
Tax rates where they were before Reagan.

Tax money spent on "luxury" items the same as the income spent on 13 year old used cars, and more of that money will stay invested.
Investment is the tide that lifts all boats.

that never ends well,, last 100 yrs of attempting it caused millions of deaths,,
Some eggs need to be broken to make enough for everyone else. It also didn't take 100 years to take Russia from just out of the iron age into the industrial age, that took about 30 years while we also defeated the Germans.

Talk about multi-tasking.

ansd also killed millions,,

Wow, we have a dick-tater here.
Sounds like a dic-header to me. They love bloviating about "equality" when it means they can take things from people they hate, but try and slaughter their prized swine to feed truly needy people and watch them freak out.

Nothing should be "taxed". It should be provided. People shouldn't be punished with fines for doing things just cause you don't like it. That's why people hate government.
Wow, sounds just like the Communists of old.

You left out the 12 million hitler killed. Some governments have growing pains while they're establishing themselves. Care to guess how many were killed or forcibly relocated when the rebels defeated the crown in the 13 colonies?
Hitler was just the other side of the Socialist Coin while Stalin was on the other. Both were allies up to the point, but Socialist have a paranoia about them because of their god syndrome. Stalin alone starved 11 million Ukrainians just because they didnt like his policies. Mao killed over 22 million, just because he could. Talk about the god syndrome....

Here is God telling it like it is..

Many years ago, Congress passed, and the President signed a new tax on luxury yachts. In Rhode Island is where a lot of those boats are built and repaired. What happened? Yacht sales plummeted as the rich chose not to buy the boats and pay the increased tax, so they invested their money elsewhere. The boatyards now had nothing to build, so the workers were laid off and the boat yards closed. Thousands of craftsmen who built those boats were out a job and had no prospect for any other type of employment, so the sat at home collecting unemployment compensation. How much was raised by the taxes? Barely a drop in the bucket compared to the increased expenditures for social services and unemployment for all those boat yard workers!

My point is that although a lot of people died sooner than they might have otherwise, their deaths spared millions more from suffering under pre-industrial conditions that would continue to exist if some radical changes that were indeed brutal were not made. So sure, the circumstances were bad. A little bit of logic proves the results would be worse otherwise.

That's why the advancement of communism by people who were not motivated to achieve the true objectives of the philosophy "failed". As much as the industrialist oligarchs exploited and stole the productivity of the working class, those who insisted they were fighting on behalf of the workers only sought to enrich themselves for the most part.

I sincerely hope you are joking. Because this is one of the more unworkable suggestions for policy I've seen today.

It would be easier to just outlaw mink coats, Ferraris and lobsters. Problem solved until a different kind of sh*t hits the fan.
