Well if you remember, after the 2012 non-contest, they had this great post-mortem to where they realized that 18 years the Gingrich-style hate-fueled rhetoric wasn’t working. The decision was made to try to expand the appeal and get away from the Rove idea to aim for only 50.1% of the electorate and then do whatever the hell you wanted afterword. They had better hope that the 2015-2024 departure from that truth was just an anomaly because if it isn’t, the writing on the wall for the GOP isn’t good. If they really don’t want to expand the appeal of the party to Hispanics, women, blacks, LGBTQ...they are history. For every white child born in this nation, there are like five Hispanic and black children being born. They cannot continue playing the “we don’t need you” game.

In some ways, the hilarious thing about the GOP is that many of their voters would be fine with the GOP going the way of the do-do bird (sp?).

If the GOP wins the 2024 Presidential election, the day of reckoning will be postponed. Much like it was postponed when they won the 2016 election. However the day is coming where they will have to soberly look at their party’s stances in comparison where the nation is and come to the all-too-obvious conclusion that they have lined up time and again on the wrong side of history. The stances run the gamut from siding with corrupt police to the misogyny to actual polices such as opposing women being able to make their own health care decisions.

So the question has to be asked...who is going to break the news to the rank and file that they have been sold a bill of goods for several decades. As was famously said: "We're not generating enough angry white guys to stay in business for the long term."

Yeah...but at some point it will dawn on them, right? I doubt that will take place organically without a central figure. Sort of how the Democrats had it with Clinton. And over time, you’ve seen the Dems veering slowly back to the left. The good thing is that helping people, feeding people, sheltering people, and giving people some measure of hope is a good thing. The GOP is happily (for the time being) going the other way.
