"Palestine" is a Latin-based word invented by the Romans when they renamed Israel "Palaestina" in retribution against the Jewish rebellions against their oppression. Palaestina referred to the Philistines, ancient enemies of the Jews who originated from Greece.
Which begs the question, why do so-called Palestinians, who are Arabs, go by a name that is Latin in derivation, not Arabic, and that refers to Philistines who were Greek, not Arab? Turns out there is nothing "Palestinian" about so-called Palestinians.
Funny, yes?
