The name "Palestine" has a long and complex history. The term "Peleset" is found in five inscriptions referring to a neighboring people, who are generally identified with the Philistines, or their land Philistia, starting from circa 1150 BCE during the Twentieth Dynasty of Egypt.

The term "Palestine" was known from the 5th century BCE when the ancient Greek historian Herodotus wrote of a "district of Syria, called Palaistinê" between Phoenicia and Egypt in The Histories. Later Greek writers such as Aristotle, Polemon and Pausanias also used the word, which was followed by Roman writers such as Ovid, Tibullus, Pomponius Mela, Pliny the Elder, Dio Chrysostom, Statius, Plutarch as well as Roman Judean writers Philo of Alexandria and Josephus.

In the early 2nd century CE, the term "Syria Palaestina" (literally, "Palestinian Syria") was given to a Roman province incorporating Judaea and other territories, either before or after the suppression of the Bar Kokhba revolt in 135. Following the Muslim conquest, place names that were in use by the Byzantine administration generally continued to be used in Arabic, and the Jund Filastin became one of the military districts within the Umayyad and Abbasid province of Bilad al-Sham.

I live in Cleveland, Ohio. We have a lovely area, inhabited by mostly Italians for well over a century, that is called Little Italy. The area is filled with Italian shops, celebrates Italian customs and has the very best Italian restaurants.

Does this bit you've posted mean Italy can lay claim to this part of Cleveland, in your opinion?

Palestine
(Arabic: فلسطين, romanized: Filasṭīn[e]), officially the State of Palestine (دولة فلسطين, Dawlat Filasṭīn), is a state located in the Southern Levant region of West Asia. Founded on 15 November 1988 and officially governed by the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), it claims the West Bank (including East Jerusalem) and the Gaza Strip as its territory
State of Palestine - Wikipedia

Palestine (from Latin: Palaestina; Hebrew: ארץ־ישראל Eretz-Yisra'el, formerly also פלשתינה Palestina; Arabic: فلسطين Filasṭīn, Falasṭīn, Filisṭīn) is one of several names for the geographic region between the Mediterranean Sea and the Jordan River and various adjoining lands.

Different geographic definitions of Palestine have been used over the millennia, and these definitions themselves are politically contentious. In recent times, the broadest definition of Palestine has been that adopted by the British Mandate, and the narrowest is that used in contemporary politics today, called the Palestinian territories, which are the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

No one is denying the historical, geographical place-name that was adopted by a specific group of people at a specific time for specific political purposes. They adopted that name intentionally to lay a veneer of historical authenticity to their newly-created "peoplehood".

One can find online many articles with pictures and descriptions of Israeli artifacts found from over 5000 years ago. Items such as tools, weapons, scrolls and everyday items. But I have never seen proof of Palestinian items from the same periods.

This is what Palestine looked like in 1938, before it was occupied. Its people were killed and displaced when it was later called Israel.
