I cannot expect to be accepted in a 4 year university with a 750 SAT score unless maybe if I'm a black athlete who can run really fast.
And don't ask me about dunking a basketball.

See if there are any set preferences according the regulations. Also, when I applied for financial aide the last time was right after I separated from the military. I couldn't get any funding to go to school outside of my G.I. bill. Not from the university itself. I should know because I tried at Austin Peay University. They had no scholarships for white students that were out of H.S. at the time.

A privilege is something you don't earn. As a landlord I rent to everyone......but my wife, who is black, doesn't. She's tired of having to deal with them. They are, percentage wise, more of a problem for some reason. Plenty of whites have screwed us over worse than blacks, but more blacks are problem tenants than whites. This isn't something that I assumed and thus privilege on display, but something that we learned over the years.

Now of course simply stating statistical analysis is racism to a liberal.

I don't know......I was an athlete, but I had to have a higher SAT to get in . The reason they accept kids with 700 SATs is because someone raised Hell and claimed it was racist not to. They claimed that the SATs were racist as well.

Once I open my mouth that could change. The way I dress makes a bigger difference than my skin color. If I dress like a homeless man I can be assured that people will stay away from me. If I wear a uniform people act differently depending on the area of the country I'm in or if I'm on some college campuses. If I talk like a red-neck people will think of me differently than if I speak with a foreign accent. Skin color is just one possible perception difference, but not the biggest factor.

I remember hearing an Irish comedian who was a conservative on the radio....and he explained he is a conservative.....but everything he said was listened to and applauded by the college crowd he was preforming in front of simply because he had a foreign accent and most liberals feel that foreigners are liberals....and thus worth their respect. Many of the things he said were in line with what Republicans believe.

I have to hear this Irish comedian before I make an assessment.

Are there conservatives that can convince me of the viability of their position? Yes

Do they have to be a foreigner or minority in order to do so? No.

So I am wondering if you are not missing the real reason why you think the crowd was accepting of his viewpoint. Maybe it was the presentation of his views.

It's harder now, thanks to new regulations, to find out someone's credit and their arrest history, but you can get it. Usually we just check their credit and talk to them. How they dress and talk has alot to do with who we rent to. But if they have an arrest history we try to find out, and if they don't like paying their bills, we won't rent to anyone. Usually most people we rent to have terrible credit scores. Part of the reason they don't own a home is because they're moving, just got a new job, or irresponsible.
