After months of talks, the country is set to go ahead with the proposals that will see farms seized without compensation – something critics have said will be devastating.

When the minister of education is taking the fund earmarked for books in schools, rather than giving it to the schools for books, you know there's a problem.

If they did land reform, functioning farms would go to waste. The people would take the land assuming it'd make them money, and not make money from it. Maybe some farms would function, but a lot wouldn't.

This isn't racism, this is just what exists in Sub-Saharan Africa right now. Politicians massively on the take, people waiting for what they "deserve" to be given (in their eyes) rather than actually taking it.

The rape of African resources is something that has happened by western countries and set the African back. However other countries like China suffered such things too and managed to get back on their feet, whereas the Africans seemed to learn that corruption pays and gone down that route instead.

Why do African countries have mountains of debt? Part of it is that leaders get elected and then try and take as much money for themselves and their cronies as possible. Rather than doing what's best for the country, they just strip and pillage.

China has seen that African countries are there for the taking and they're going in and it's easy work. Flash the cash and they'll pull down their pants in a second.
