What can you do? The Federal government was created by the States and we the people. We gave it life and a defined set of duties and responsibilities. It has decided to behave like an undisciplined and unruly child. It fails to meet its duties and responsibilities while at the same time its has assumed powers it does not have and seeks to control virtually every aspect of our lives. It continuously and deliberately bites the hands that created and sustain it. It ignores the limits of its allowance and spends, spends, spends in a vain attempt to justify its excesses since we foolishly gave it the printing press. It no longer serves we the people, it expects us to serve it.

Could we shut off its allowance? No, we gave it the authority to print money (even though their "funny" money has no basis or value other that trust. The flood of deficit spending with this funny money simply reduces the value of our money and greatly reduces the purchasing power of our dollars.

It seems that the only choice we have is to call the creators together (constitutional convention) and replace this runaway child with a new one with a well defined set of duties and limits. We must also remove any opportunity to spend money it does not have; it must be structured to live within its allowance. No deficits, no off-budget maneuvers, no use of the tax codes for social engineering, no open ended, unlimited entitlements, etc. Any increase in its allowance must be agreed to by the creators.

Will the child become the master? The choice is ours. Pappadave.

I was all set to tell you to give him a dose of Benadryl and send him to bed, but then you went in a totally different direction.
