I don't understand why so many people are upset to learn that most congressmen don't read a bill before voting for it. Most of them don't write the bills either. They let lobbyists, special interests, and consultants, and of course the affected businesses write the bills, carefully crafted to lean in their favor and tilt the playing field to their advantage. Obviously they can't add or subtract, just spend, spend, spend. This is all perfectly understandable when you realize most of these cretins are the product of the great, free public education system that we spend billions on (free my ass). Like free advice this product is basically worthless. Is not that they won't read a bill, they CAN"T! Its not that they won't write concise, clear legislation; they don't know how to do that. The only math they know is how many votes they need to buy to stay in office. What's the big deal? The irony is that we the people keep re=electing these paragons of knowledge. Their only qualifications for office are these. They are pretty parrots, able to glibly mimic the party line. They can speak smoothly in 30 second media sound bites. They can promise their constituents everything and deliver nothing. they can convince the people that their intentions are more importsnt that their results. And we the people buy it all, hook, line, and sinker. (Yes, Virginia, the ship of State is sinking, rapidly) Peace, Love, and Faith. Pappadave
