The question is not relevant to any issue of public policy.

The relevant question is, are "protected" classes of people being harmed by bigotry, and if so, what can be done about it?

Any rational review of the situation will reveal that to the extent that protected classes are chronically poor, the poverty can be explained by factors other than race, gender, ethnicity, or sexual identity, thus any racism that exists is not only unmeasurable but irrelevant.

White families headed by a single parent have approximately that same probability of being "poor" as Black, Latino, Asian, or Indian (the subcontinent) parents. High school dropouts who are white are about as "successful" economically as high school dropouts who are non-white.

The fact that more "protected" families are headed by single parents and/or high school dropouts explains their relative poverty, without any reference to their protected status.

Thus it is not only FALSE but also INSIDIOUS when a major Presidential candidate repeatedly claims that people in protected classes are "held back" by racial, ethnic, gender-based, and hetero-bigotry.

But then, you already knew that, eh?

Yes, by all means let's punish Asian Americans who came to this country with next to nothing, but who value hard work and education by telling them their kids wont be going to college because we decide the spots should go to less qualified individuals whose culture values neither.
