What is truth? How can liberals believe their own lies?

Its so painful to watch conservative attempt to be 'smart'. Conservatism is the modern attempt to make selfishness noble. I forget who the quote comes from but it strikes at the heart of it.

Boats coming from Cuba? Yeah I don't see many boats coming from Sweden, or Switzerland, France, England, Australia. Conservatives always gravitate to any SINGLE example and then conflate the example as "see, this one example proves all of what I say is absolute truth". But it doesn't.

Later they are talking about religion, conservatives in fact lump all Muslims together as terrorists and the religion as evil. No critical thinking at all. They get to this point by pure gut-level fear reaction.

There are estimated to have been 40,000 religions, big and small, in human history. Probably 4,000 big and small on Earth right now. People from EACH of those religions claims theirs is THE TRUTH, and all the other 3,999 are falsehoods.

Where is the 'real' truth? Belief does not create reality. It is merely an interpretation of reality. Don't believe in gravity? Step off a cliff and you will find your belief is not reality.

I see we have another anthropogenic climate change proponent in the house.

Nothing to clear up, it's common sense and human history. Ask a Dodo bird if you don't believe me...

You pretend to be as educated as Sir Isaac?

I scoff in your general direction.

A cop comes to your door and is sorry to tell you your 17 year old son died in a car crash an hour ago. All people that love their children will be devastated by this news, fall to the ground and wail, knowing their world just changed forever. But the cop is wrong, a call comes in and they have the wrong name and the parents are beyond elated that their child is alive.

But the emotion of losing the child was exactly the same as when one would really lose a child. Because the person BELIEVED it. That is how powerful belief is. The human brain has a hard time getting a firm grasp on reality.

Sorry this is way too long.
No, this is spot-on, exactly right.

In essence, conservatives, for the most part, adhere blindly to sanctioned doctrine and dogma, to the exclusion of facts and evidence which conflict with that doctrine and dogma.

No, Euroweenies gave up on boats after air travel became dominant, but the flood of euroweenies during the 1800's into the present day who were trying to escape their bloated governments insatiable appetites for tax revenue, and their failure to adequately manage cradle to grave nanny states is a testament to the failure of collectivist systems.

Right, the planes crashing into buildings and people getting their heads cut off should be overlooked. The fact is that everywhere on earth that has a significant muslim population, violent attacks are routine.

Libtards generally reject religion, but of course vehemently defend the cult that kills gays, circumcises little girls, suppresses women in general, enslaves conquered people telling the rest of us we need to "COEXIST". Of course they're in no hurry to travel to Syria and enlighten the most active members of the "Religion of Peace".

The truth being discussed here is that socialism is a failed despotic system of government that has done little more than create poverty, stagnation, genocide, and famine. There are no socialist countries that come anywhere near the unprecedented growth of the US before regressive policies put the brakes on innovation and prosperity for the sake of "fairness". The only "equality" collectivism can offer is equal misery. (Except of course for the apparachiks and their masters, they're "more equal".)

Too long and utterly irrelevant.

No, it was emotional drivel. You bed wetters are adherents to "sanctioned doctrine and dogma, to the exclusion of facts" and the proof of that is that is that there are no "moderate" libtards. You either believe it all, or you're a "rightwinger" worthy of contempt. There are no bigger idiots more devoted to vacuous fairytales of utopian pipe dreams than bed wetting liberals.

BWAHAHAHA!!

Man, you're a million laughs, Clayton!

What "sanctioned doctrine" do conservatives adhere to despite the evidence?

True liberals do not exist on this board, the o0nly thing that exists are the far left drones that hijacked the liberal and progressive terms.

I am sure your fairy dust works on fellow conservatives...

Says the far left drone looking to be fed so they can become top posting drone of the month..

Then again the far left drones hate Blue dog Democrats because they are to much like Conservatives..

Lazy people CHOOSE to be democrats because being a democrat requires no thinking.
And yet it's democrats who get an education because, apparently, education is simply too difficult for right wingers.
All right wingers can do is fight with illegal immigrants over minimum wage jobs with no benefits.

The free bread and circus was just a gift from a rich uncle?

Rome had welfare, just like we do. Rome also was destroyed for the same reason.
Welfare destroyed Rome? Stupid statements like that are the result of a lack of education.

Yes, it sure helped. Spending huge amounts providing free grain to the masses used up a lot of the money the empire could have used to defend itself, just as now the USA is spending huge amounts providing sustenance to ticks on the ass of society rather than building a sound military and defending its borders.

"Shining absolute morality in liberals? WHAT are you smoking?

I'll give you some examples:

Liberal: "Lying is wrong."
Conservative: "Lying in the name of your political party is encouraged."

Liberal: "Be loyal to your country"
Conservative: "If it scores political points, screw your country."

Liberal: "Take responsibility for your actions."
Conservative: "Always make the other guy take responsibility for your actions."

Lying is wrong, yet you're an Obama supporter
