What Is "Greed"?

While it might be true that the Internet has facilitated extra-marital affairs it certainly has not caused them. The only cause of such behavior is one's inclination. If one is not inclined to be unfaithful nothing outside the marriage will alter that.
Interesting.

You will then agree that, while it might be true that firearms facilitate violent crimes, they certainly do not cause them. The only cause of such behavior is one's inclination. If one is not inclined to commit a violent crime, the presence of firearms will not alter that
I absolutely agree. (I am 100% pro-gun.)

What Is "Greed"?
It's best exemplified by oil-companies who can no-longer depend-upon military-force to rape any-and-all Countries of their.....

.....natural-resources.

"Iraq will auction 12 new oil and gas exploration blocks this week in a fourth energy bidding round, as it seeks the rapid expansion of a sector vital to its economy, but tough contract terms mean Baghdad may struggle to drum up major interest.

The country, a member of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), has the world's fourth largest oil reserves and can offer some of the last potentially rich unexplored territories after its energy sector was left under-developed by decades of war and economic sanctions.

Foreign energy companies are hesitant over Iraq's offer of service contracts, under which they would be paid a fee for their services. Such deals are seen as less advantageous than production-sharing contracts, through which explorers can claim a share in profits from output.

The auction, now scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, has already been postponed several times by the oil ministry to address complaints by potential bidders about contract terms."

Dead on. And why not an aluminum ball bat? Axe handle? ANY object that could be a weapon?

What Is "Greed"?

When it comes to "greed"
the gov't has a never ending "greed" for people's money

Of course by promoting class envy, the Left hopes to justify
that greed

.

Our culture celebrates greed, avarice, hyper-consumerism. It elevates Kim Kardashian, a person with absolutely no identifiable talents, to superstar status because she was friends with Paris Hilton, ditto. What you own, what you wear and what you buy are far more important than who you are or what you've accomplished. Your third $10 million mansion is far, far more important than opening a homeless shelter.

Our culture is fucked up, our priorities are irreparably warped, and those are significant factors in our rapid decay. This country has lost its soul. It sold it to buy a new iPad.

Greed is when I want more playing time than the next guy and the 3 more behind him on the depth chart, more time on the field. As a result of my greediness I spent more time in the weight room, film room and track in the offseason.
Greed is when I want more than the next guy and will work my ass off to get it. Greed is when I do get the fruits of working my ass off I go out and invest that money into more land around me because I want it and do not want other houses on it. Greed is when I put a lot of $$$ in the bank for retirement so I can sit on my ass and watch others work.
Greed is GOOD.

Work?

How hard must one "work his ass off" to accumulate fifty million dollars? A hundred million dollars? How about a billion? Ten billion? The average person who "works his ass off" is lucky if he can retire and pay all his bills until he dies.

You need to define work because evidently it means different things to different (kinds of) people.

There is nothing wrong with wealth. But too many Americans have been brainwashed by corporatist propaganda to the degree that they have no concept of excess. Access to excessive wealth is the root of America's (the world's) current economic problems.

Definition of GREED

: a selfish and excessive desire for more of something (as money) than is needed

Greed..............Believing the unearned can be had, that wants are a "right", and the undeserved taken from one party and given to another at the whim of some bureaucratic crony, "justice"....

Pathetic leeches

Greed..............Believing the unearned can be had
That is criminal ambition.

that wants are a "right"
Everyone has a right to want.

and the undeserved taken from one party and given to another at the whim of some bureaucratic crony, "justice"....
That is called graft or theft, except when it's legitimately charitable.

Greed is the voracious taking of more than one needs with disregard for the harm or inequity done to others by that excess.

Religious persons denote greed as one of the Seven Deadly Sins.

Like Welfare

that wants are a "right"
Everyone has a right to want.

Not every want is a right, say........home ownership

and the undeserved taken from one party and given to another at the whim of some bureaucratic crony, "justice"....

Or excessive taxation and redistribution

"More then one needs" as determined by whom ???? Some socialist panel of experts ?

Religious persons denote greed as one of the Seven Deadly Sins.

Who decides and sets the threshold as what is "selfish", "excessive" "what is needed" and "desire"?
You, Obama, the GOVERNMENT?
No wonder we have a fucked up economy and country. Folks are using the dictionary as government policy.

I hate no one, especially Obama. I oppose his policies and believe he has been an ineffective executive. However, I admire the man as he is a good family man and worked hard to get his education.
I assumed you posted that definition because you believed it.
Please accept my apologies if you posted something you do not believe in.
