What is dark matter and how does anyone "know" that it is "real"

We don't know what it is because we can't observe it directly. We know something's there because there's more gravitational pull than there should be based on the observable matter. Dark matter is the most plausible idea right now until we discover more. You're not really very good at this, are you?

We do not know it's there as the equations that demand it could well be wrong....
