And no, it's not guns. Tim McVey used a really big bomb, the guy in China used a Machete, others are drunk and although it's an accident still many die.

So what do all these people have in common?

They are all insane to some degree or another. Not so insane that they are driven to choose to attack armed venues, but insane nonetheless.

Notice how liberals want no protection from the insane. They want more accommodation for mental illness instead.

Do you have an answer or are you just asking? They had lots of general things in common like being human, gender, social isolation/rejection, mental imbalance, etc.

mcveigh was not insane.

he was a radicalized right wing gun nutter

I wouldn't call him sane but he was deemed competent to stand trial. McViegh is a red herring in this discussion and was more a politically motivated terrorist than a psychopathic thrill killer looking to commit suicide by cop. The school shootings were on some level a personal score to settle and probably had nothing to do with anything political.

Almost all of these mass murderers are mentally ill. We need to end the stigma of getting psychological help, and raise awareness about mental health issues. This won't stop all massacres, but it sure might prevent some of them. Plus, this could lead to intelligent people who might otherwise go on a rampage and/or commit suicide do something great with their lives.

some do this because they are so insane they dont know what reality iss and are living out some fantasy that has nothing to do with reality. The denver theater guy.

Some do this to get back at the world for NOT recognising them for what they think they are. This last kid.

Some do it out of political ideaology that places THEIR desires over what all other Americans want.

They have a failed ideology and want to FORCE it on the rest of us through FEAR and intimidation. McVeigh.

He was an asshole who thought what he believed mattered MORE than democracy.

much like most of the republican party right now.

Fortunatly for America these other republicans and right leaning cohorts are not sociopaths like Mcveigh was.

Not all of them anyway

But extremist right-wingers -- from Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh to a neo-Nazi accused of trying to bomb a Martin Luther King Day parade this year -- have shown a willingness to target the public, LaFree said.

Such groups are among the fastest-growing extremist organizations in the country, the Southern Poverty Law Center reported in February. Right wing anti-government groups grew by 60% in 2010 over the previous year, the center reported, attributing much of the growth to militia groups.
The group also reported a smaller increase in the number of anti-immigrant vigilante groups, SPLC reported.

The suspect in the Oslo, Norway, bombings published papers on the internet stressing "unity over diversity" and calling for a violent response to a policy of multiculturalism that he said was destroying European society.

Far right domestic terrorism on par with foreign threat, experts say - CNN

That describes atheists pretty well.

The common denominator is that they're not so damn crazy that they don't know to pick unarmed targets, they massacre people in known locations where guns are banned, schools, churches, malls, etc. and the fort hood shooter knew he was walking into a gun free zone when he shot his fellow soldiers.

Good thing we don't have crazies who become suicide bombers instead of mass shooters. We might if they didn't have access to guns.

You mentioned Tim McVeigh among these people.

He attacked a federal building with armed feds in it.

I said nothing about Tim McVeigh. I'll accept your apology now.
