I have zero idea which to duplicate I just know ours is wrong and far more costly than it could beBuck don't mean to prolong this conversation but all those civilized countries with HC for their citizens are wrong?Looks like you'll be getting what you voted for How good that is for America leaves large doubt in my mindI'm not a huge fan of the Orange clown, to be sure. I was forced to vote for him because the Dems running your party told you guys the bulldyke was your candidate. Trump is the result of a The 2 main parties screwing their base for too long. And also the libertarians selecting an idiot as a canidate. I'm not expecting any significant cooperation with Trump or any real results from his presidency. I voted the long game, SCOTUS.
I'm sure it does leave you with doubt, but without justice Roberts changing the individual mandate into a tax, BOcare would not have become law. Since I adhere to the constitutional ideas of our framers, I don't think Healthcare, education, abortion, etc should be the purview of the federal government, but rather dealt with thru the democracy of individual states. So yes, I will take a giant Orange clown as POTUS if it puts more constitutional purist on the SCOTUS.
I never said that, but since you bring it up, which of those countries do you think we should emulate? And when I say emulate, I mean emulate exactly.
Wrong? Not sure there is an absolute right. It could be improved for sure. With regard to cost- Our current system, or even more so the direction the system is headed, is unsustainable IMO.
We have many issues to be sure, but here are a few that stand out.
There is little or no personal responsibility for ones own health. If I lead a lifestyle which is very likely to cause health issues, then I should be prepared to pay those cost. Why should You subsidize my healthcare if I chose to eat crappy food, drink excessively, smoke a pack of nicotine a day, and not exercise?
Big Pharmaceuticals make too much money drugging this country.
Nearly 60 percent of Americans — the highest ever — are taking prescription drugs
Nearly 3 in 5 American adults take a prescription drug, up markedly since 2000 because of much higher use of almost every type of medication, including antidepressants and treatments for high cholesterol and diabetes.
We also consume 80% of the worlds opioids.
Imagine a teenage with daddy's charge card. They never see the bill. They don't have to take the time to change the oil in their car, because when the engine blows, mom and dad pay to have it fixed. People who don't pay for their own healthcare, don't care what it cost. They are not motivated to limit their need for healthcare.
