Not what the federal government wants for Americans.

Obamacare is what the federal government wants for Americans... so much for any sort of freedom and individuality. Let's hope that changes soon... lol

I don't think mere hoping is going to get it done. We can't expect Republicans and Democrats to dismantle the behemoth that has given them so much power. It won't change until we stop supporting them.

True, a Bull in a China shop like Trump is a good start...

Americans didn't want insurance companies to drop pre existing conditions? They didn't want insurers to drop lifetime caps? They didn't want to write of 40% of every dollar as "overhead"?
But they did want to sell unsuspecting people policies that covered almost nothing, and now they will be able to do that again.

What the hell is it going to take to get the USA on board the single payer train? It's really the best solution to this stupid back and forth bickering. Let's try to catch up with the rest of the civilized world.

No, it's simply a dramatic end. Picking up the pieces and starting over might sound appealing, but it's a naive disaster to wish for it.

It will take Americans embracing socialism. Many of them are ready to do that, but most aren't. It will probably take force of arms to get what you're after.

Single payer has nothing to do with socialism, but VA insurance does, yet no one complains.

We already do embrace socialism, at least in terms of certain things. Why not health care? It's where it makes the most sense. Single payer isn't quite socialism, but I get your point.

Insurance is not healthcare, no one should be forced to buy it… Ever

Auto insurance? Mortgage insurance? Homeowners insurance?

Sure, all we need to do is find a civilized country with a service level we're accustomed to.

Yup, those don't sound like healthcare either...and guess what you have a choice on all of those insurances.

Sorry I don't want VA quality government healthcare staffed by a bunch of losers mired in government bureaucracy. Then there's assholes like Obama who says old people are not worth expensive treatments, they should just take opiate pain pills until they die.

Your choice is that you must buy them- period!

Your fears are unjustified. It wouldn't be remotely anything like that.

Sure, try Canada.

Evidently you missed the part about a service level we're accustomed to. Guessing not many are happy with waiting months for a doctor's appointment...I know Canadians aren't happy with the waiting.
