I have known and met many Navy academy grads in my life and never met one that didn't want to attend his or her own graduation....they work their asses off to get to that point....and not one of them wants to do a virtual graduation and miss seeing the president of the United States.....no matter how thick your TDS has become.....They are flying to their next duty station anyway...what is your malfunction?....you think Trump wants to give a speech?....he can do that anytime he wants.....this is for the graduates not Trump.....we don't have a virtual Navy sailor......get that through your head....stop with the TDS accusations....No. I dont. WTF is wrong with you?Does anyone else think that this is unnecessarily putting our military graduates at risk?
They had already been sent back home and were finishing out the year via computer and the internet. They were also scheduled to do a virtual graduation like the Navy did, but because Trump has to have someone to give a speech to, he is calling them back, which means they have to travel through one of the most infected areas in the country. Then, when they get there, they have to be quarantined, then after quarantine, they attend the ceremony. Lots of hassle for no really good reason.
No, they aren't necessarily flying to their next duty station. I was a PN, meaning I did the paperwork for the command. And, if you DON'T have a POV (Privately Owned Vehicle), then the military will find you a plane ticket. If you go via POV, you get 350 miles/day in travel time.
If you don't have a POV, then the military will provide you with a plane ticket to get to your next duty station. If it is in the continental US, then you only get one day travel time.
I'm guessing that most of these cadets have their own vehicles.
OMG...its like arguing two year old....after graduation 90% of them will travel by train plane bus or car I can guarantee you none of them are worried about flying to a graduation ceremony....
Really? You can guarantee that? How many of the cadets do you know?
Really? You know a lot of them? Ask them if they would have been willing to go back to graduation during a pandemic, after already being sent home and told they would have a virtual graduation?
