Welfare Recipient:"Why Would Anyone Want To Work in America??"

hating poor people will not win you any elections

Ahhh.. TDM getting it wrong again

It is not hating 'poor people'.. it is hating people who think everyone else should pay for their shit while they do fucking nothing...

It is also hating people who like to be generous with other people's money while claiming moral superiority because of it

They do more for their pay check than Paul Ryan. It's hypocritical to demonize help from the government when we all get help from the government.

If you're trying to convince us that life on welfare is a sweetheart deal, you've got a long row to hoe.

No, but due to the massive disincentive to thrive that welfare brings about , it does cause even more poverty, evidenced by the INCREASE in the rate of poverty over the last near half century despite a massive increase in entitlement programs.

Oops...

It is the Dem's who hate the poor, by keeping them under control of the welfare programs that they keep passing.

Wanting our poor to be lifted out of poverty is not hating them.
We want programs that help them to become productive citizens by having a good education and programs that will help them to get out of the ghettos and horrible housing projects that the Dem's programs have created.

Wanting a man to walk again is noble...Taking his crutches and screaming WALK DAMMIT is callous.

Listen to this welfare recipient ask why anyone would want to work in America with all the benefits they get from not working.

You do know know people have to work for their welfare(if they are not in school) at below minimum wage.

Not exactly true. In California, all one has to do is participate in "job training" or "related activities" to get the dole. One can go FOUR YEARS without actually holding an actual job with no fear of loosing the handout and even after that, that person will continue to received assistance for each kid no matter what. In fact, California is one of the few states that will give welfare to families with kids even when the parents do not qualify for welfare, often because they're already receiving federal "disability" checks. Further, when welfare recipients are forced to work, it is often at a subsidized government part-time job...yep, even more taxpayer dollars.

So while your statement can be true in some cases, it's HIGHLY misleading to say "people have to work for their welfare".

Not misleading at all,job training is school. Disability is counted toward their income requirements.

Welfare is bad...except corporate

Like taxpayer money to solar panel companies? Or are you referring to Wall Street bailouts. Wall Street is in whose district again? Oh yea, Chucky Shumer.

Anyway, this libertarian thinks welfare, individual AND corporate is bad, counterproductive and inherently unfair.

You mean TARP?

Wall streets district? Are you serious right now?

Explain how we all get help from the government.

Really?? You may not agree with Ryan and what he is doing, but you cannot say a welfare junkie does more than a legislator

And no.. we do not all get 'help'.. we all get the same services as anyone else.. law enforcement, court system, nation defense, etc... but SOME get freebies (confiscated from others) to take care of personal needs.. SOME pay pennies on the dollar for the common services while voting to force others they are jealous of (because of not liking how much or how they got their money) to pay exponentially more

You are an idiot

For FOUR FUCKING YEARS? I don't think so. And the requirement that the recipient actually show up for this training in California? It's a joke and everyone in the state knows it.

Disability is counted toward their income requirements.

It's different in California. In California, people getting federal "disability" can still get welfare for each kid they have (only three states allow this). Doesn't matter if the parents are not at all eligible for welfare, be it for disability payments or any other reason.

I mean any corporate welfare and/or bailouts. I'm against them all. You?

And yes, Wall Street is in Shumer's district. Seriously.

That is not true at all. There is no work involved, and most states welfare programs provide payment over minimum wage. 9 states even provide welfare that exceeds a first year teacher's salary

The increase in poverty might be to good jobs going to China and Mexico, welfare was less restrictive before increase in poverty and Reaganomics.

Against bailouts not against welfare...as a step

what difference does it make where Wall Street is located? I'm trying to figure out why you said it?

The increase in poverty might be to good jobs going to China and Mexico

Now what could cause that to happen? An overly onerous regulatory environment? Government imposed healthcare cost requirements on businesses? Ridiculous environmental laws? A government imposed minimum wage? The highest corporate tax rate in the world?

Could government meddling in business be to blame for increasing the impetus to outsource...the same meddling you advocate? Naw, couldn't be! :doubt:

Against bailouts not against welfare...as a step

You against corporate welfare? I am.

If you're for individual welfare, you're helping to ensure the rate of poverty continues to increase, which is exactly what has happened despite trillions spent on entitlements for decades.

Because Wall Street gets a ton of corporate welfare/bailouts, which Dems tend to bitch about, despite electing a guy (Schumer) that leads the charge for more corporate welfare. It's mind boggling.
