We used to be the Americans.

We used to be the Americans. There was no one else like us. We were known around the world for our courage, our fairness, our honor, our generosity, our ability to get things done. And no one had to tell us how to be great. Now we're the Americans. There's no one like us. We're known around the world for our violence, our stupidity. What happened to us?
The Only thing worse than nationalism is globalism…

Liberalism.

World opinion of the USA has gone up substantially under Obama, after nosediving under Bush.

Except in Russia, and North Korea. The enemies of the USA think much like the enemies of Obama.

In all seriousness though, we haven't always been known as a pillar of virtue everywhere:

Progressives have been working for decades to divide us, that way they can conquer us individually.

It's called conservatism. Rightists ruin everything.

“You can always count on Americans to do the right thing - after they've tried everything else.”

- Winston Churchill -

'twas always thus and always thus will be.

Technically we're still Americans. It's just that Obama has made the world recognize that we are now post-constitutional Americans.
What silly, meaningless blather. We were a nation. Now we're factions. And no, Obama didn't do it. It began to be apparent long before he came on the scene. Just when I thought we had a chance at unification through his presidency, Mitch McConnell declared an absolute stonewall policy against him. No other president has faced such a consistent and blatant opposition. And now the new meme is "Obama is racist". What nonsense.

Everything was just fine until Obama got elected, right?

fine, no
but it really did not get better under him,not in the US or around the world.

Healthcare, trade, unemployment, welfare, national dept, number of terrorist attacks, divisions between groups, real income, crime

Sorry not deserving of a standing ovation

What happened to following forum rules? This isn't current events, there is no link and this is just an opinion.
It IS current events. The continuation of gun violence is an every day occurrence. And everyone's posting is their own personal opinion. The NRA would have us all armed all the time without benefit of licensing or training. A good guy with a gun, such as the police, would always be able to take out a bad guy with a gun. Every time. And of course, with everyone armed, and shooting, the police would instantly be able to tell the good guys from the bad guys. Right.
