Washington D.C. to Legalize Public Urination

I think you can get arrested for smoking a cigarette in a restricted area but you can piss anywhere you want. Welcome to the new world order.

I was just there in August and had to piss when I was riding a Bird Scooter back to the hotel from the Rage Against the Machine Concert.

I wish that rule was in effect then.

HOMELESS EVERYWHERE, BY THE WAY. Beautiful parks full of tents and passed out drug addicts. I saw them.

They are changing the law because it is happening everywhere.

The mall is clear of homeless because it is a national park.

Walk 1 block north of the FUCKING WHITE HOUSE and there are homeless everywhere.

What an appeal for tourists. The Democrats and Liberals are always crying and screaming about “what the rest of the world will think of US”. Have these dumbshit Democrats thought about what Euro tourists will think of US when some bum pisses on their leg and carjacks them? That’s a Democrat-run city for you.
Even ambassadors might be recalled.

The DC Council made a ruling on the city proper, not the federal properties.

All caught up now?

Im born and raised in DC. The hotels and the 5 star restaurants where the Europeans and other international tourists stay are in “city proper”

Go catch up with yourself and DC

Yanno...............it would be helpful if both the OP and the person who wrote the OP's article knew the difference between something that is decriminalized, and something that is made legal.

From the OP's article.........................

Mayor Muriel Bowser and Police Chief Robert Contee III are pushing back hard on parts of the plan they don’t agree with, and say the council is rushing to beat an arbitrary deadline.

At a news conference Tuesday, the mayor said the concern is over the decriminalization of certain public nuisances, such as urinating in public or noise violations.

If something is decriminalized, that doesn't mean it's legal, it just means that it's treated more like a traffic ticket rather than a criminal offense.

decriminalization

Primary tabs

Decriminalization is the process through which the legislature removes criminal sanctions against an act, omission, article, or behavior which is considered a crime. Decriminalization means it would remain illegal, but the legal system would not prosecute a person for the act. The penalties would range from no penalties at all to a civil fine. This can be contrasted with legalization which is the process of removing all legal prohibitions against the act.

Marijuana is a prime example of something that has been decriminalized. In about half of the states, it is legal to buy, possess and use, but in about half of the states it's not legal, but has been decriminalized. That means if you are in a state where it has been decriminalized, if the police catch you with it, they will take it from you, give you a ticket, but you will not be arrested or taken to jail. In only 4 states, it is still fully illegal and you will be taken to jail in those states.

No. Public urination IS NOT LEGAL. It has only been DECRIMINALIZED, meaning that they won't arrest you and take you to jail for peeing in public, but they will write you a ticket and give you a fine.

Neither is legal, both are decriminalized, meaning you won't be arrested and taken to jail, but you will receive a ticket and a fine.

A upright citizen gets a ticket and a fine for smoking a cigarette and a degenerate pisses on the freaking floor and gets the same ticket and a fine that he can't pay. What's wrong with this picture?

Yes, because the crazy people doing this are the types who will pay their fines in full......

Also this is just one of those moves to artificially lower crime numbers.
