The pity is..I see this all the time in the IT market. It's much more subtle and widespread. However, part of it was brought on by some of the techs themselves..because they refused to commit to any company and stay on..sometimes for decades..as consultants.
headhunters. It doesn't really matter, labor is supposed to be afforded the same free market rights that all commodities have, not to be bound to surrender their legal rights as a condition of employment.
It's like banks and credit card companies. They won't do business with you unless you sign contracts that you don't even see but that assign them the right to change the terms of your agreement after the fact.
It's a one sided arrangement.
