Certain crimes require the ultimate punishment. Only one of the rifles will fire a blank round, so all can pretend they did not fire an actual round. I am quite sure, though, that we will have plenty of volunteers who wish to have the joy of killing a fellow human being.

Utah executed an inmate by firing squad as recently as 2010, even though they officially ruled out firing squads in 2004. If a prisoner was on death row in 2004 then he/she could choose firing squad over lethal injection.

I think public hangings would be more worthwhile. Or losing one's head by guillotine.

Given the choice, I think Americans would be willing to pay more per view for the chop than the rope.

A rusty knife seems to work quite well for ISIS. Easy to see, then, why Obama might want to fast-track some of those under-employed fellas to take those good jobs away from Utah-born Americans.
