US Declassifies Document Revealing Israel's Nuclear Program

Phoney has taken to linking to sites/articles that do not support his contention (without commenting). He is hoping that no one will check. I checked, as usual he is full of shit, the links don't support his contention that "Iran stated that they would develop nuclear weapons". In fact, they state quite the opposite.

Neither link contains your claim that Iran " have stated that they are working towards having nuclear weapons in the future" in fact the 2nd link doesn't even mention Iran at all

Do they, or is that just your POV. Mind we know that you rely on non legal documantaion and try and pass it off as LAW.

WORLD NUCLEAR STOCKPILE REPORT
The exact number of nuclear weapons in global arsenals is not known. With little exception, each of the nine countries with nuclear weapons guards these numbers as closely held national secrets. What is known, however, is that more than a decade and a half after the Cold War ended, the world's combined stockpile of nuclear warheads remain at unacceptably high levels.

What is known, however, is that more than a decade and a half after the Cold War ended, the world's combined stockpile of nuclear warheads remain at unacceptably high levels.

Hans Kristensen and Robert Norris of the Federation of American Scientists are the leading experts in estimating the size of global nuclear weapons inventories. The table is a compilation of their estimates and analyses, with links to their full reports. These reports are published in The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists and discussed further at the FAS Strategic Security Blog.

As the authors of these estimates note, the above numbers may not add up due to rounding and uncertainty about the operational statuses and size of the total inventories. For a full analysis of how the authors arrived at their estimates, please view the provided links for the complete reports.

Revealing Israel's Nuclear Secrets
In early February, the Pentagon declassified a 386-page report from 1987, exposing for the first time ever the actual depth of top-secret military cooperation between the United States and Israel — including, amazingly, information about Israel’s unacknowledged nuclear program.

In view of the caustic tension that has increased lately between Washington and Jerusalem, the timing of the publication’s declassification, after a long legal process, might raise a few eyebrows. I have some knowledge about the build-up process of Israel’s nuclear capacity and after reading the report in question I must express my astonishment: I have never seen an official American document disclosing such extensive revelation on subjects that until now were regarded by both administrations as unspeakable secrets.

The report — titled “Critical Technological Assessment in Israel and NATO Nations” — describes in detail the march of Israeli military and technological advancement in the 1970s and 80s. The authors drew particular attention to the development and progression of Israel’s nuclear infrastructure and research labs.

The most surprising segment in the report states that the Israelis are “developing the kind of codes which will enable them to make hydrogen bombs. That is, codes which detail fission and fusion processes on a microscopic and macroscopic level.” In practice, this short expression confirms that in the eighties, Israeli scientists were reaching the capabilities to employ hydrogen fusion, possible creating the sort of bombs that are thought to be a thousand times more powerful than atom bombs.

It should be emphasized that in the history of the relations between the two countries, there is no other published official American document that mentions in any way the Israelis development of hydrogen bombs. Moreover, the report proclaims that the labs in Israel “are equivalent to our Los Alamos, Lawrence Livermore and Oak Ridge National Laboratories

Now where does it say these are the type of nuclear warheads that Israel has, and these are the numbers of each type. Or are you turning vague generalities into something that does not exist

Israel is a nuclear power was the conclusion of a Department of Defense report prepared in 1987 and kept secret until its release this past March. It was brought to light through a Freedom of Information lawsuit by Grant Smith, an investigative reporter and author affiliated with the Institute for Research: Middle East Policy, who forced the release of the report, which confirms the existence of Israel's nuclear program. The actual report was prepared by the Institute for Defense Analysis, a Pentagon-funded research unit, and provides U.S.-based evidence to the advanced nature of Israel's nuclear program. According to Smith, this is the first time the U.S. government has ever provided official documentation that recognizes long-standing knowledge of the existence and extent of such a program.

It is no secret that Israel stole the uranium from the U.S. to build and produce its own nuclear bomb, and the Pentagon-released study indicates that the country has hundreds of nuclear warheads. Jeff Stein in a May 6, 2014, Newsweek article, quotes Paul Pillar, the CIA's former national intelligence officer for the Near East and South Asia, stating, "Old habits are hard to break: Zionists were dispatching spies to America before there even was an Israel to gather money and materials for the cause and later the fledgling state." Key components for Israel's nuclear bombs were clandestinely obtained here. "They've found creative and inventive ways," Pillar said, to get what they want.

After the release of the Pentagon's classified study, U.S. Republican leaders and rightwing media outlets blamed President Obama for allowing the circulation of the document and viewed it an attempt to get back at Netanyahu for his opposition to the Iran nuclear deal. As Netanyahu and America's neoconservatives call for rejecting the recently signed U.S.-Iranian nuclear deal, we must ask if sanctions, inspections and a monitoring regime will be ever set-up to deal with Israel's nuclear bombs. Why should Israel have veto power on a U.S.-Iranian deal, while its own nuclear program is not subject to any monitoring

HMMMMM not an unbiased site is it seeing as it is Islamic, and a nation that hates the Jews with a vengeance.

Now about these fantasy nuclear weapons that no one has ever seen, where are they kept again ?

Prove what? That Israel does have nukes or not does have nukes? What are you attempting to do? Or are just phoenalling?

montelatici, et al,

Yes, interesting.

So, you claim that Israel does not have nuclear weapons. Interesting.
(COMMENT)

The material we are talking about is more than 25 years old. And there was no smoking gun. The last time we used dated intelligence to extrapolate WMD potentials, we were wrong ---- entirely wrong.

Now whether you believe that Israel has a Nuclear Weapons capability, as opposed to merely a Nuclear Generation Program for peaceful purposes, neither the US or the Israelis are going to take any steps that would compromise Israeli retaliatory strike capabilities at the regional level.

But this dated material is virtually worthless today.

Most Respectfully,
R
