Depictions of villainy in modern pop-culture art/comics reflects a modern interest in using unusual or even outlandish characterizations/avatars to present pedestrian fears regarding mob psychology, urbanization, industrialization, and eco-pollution.

The terrorism-conscious American paramilitary fantasy-adventure franchise G.I. Joe: A Rea American Hero (Hasbro) for example presents incredible foot-soldiers and super-terrorists such as Sargent Slaughter and Cobra Commander who exemplify modern fears regarding complete anarchy in the face of mass civilization mobilization (we know what that means --- e.g., Wall Street, NATO, European Union, World Bank, NASDAQ, etc., etc.).

So how will modernism paranoia affect 'pro-capitalism storytelling'?

That will be a question on the minds of the numerous anti-TrumpUSA protesters...

It seems that modern narcotics-claustrophobia films such as Traffic and King of New York indicate a distinct modernism paranoia regarding capitalism-nihilism, so what kinds of Utopian/vigilantism folk-storytelling should we celebrate to counter such 'modernism depression'? Certainly, there are crime-fighting idealistic (even supernatural!) films such as The Crow and The Punisher that indicate such a 'pro-democratic interest.'

Cheers,

A self-proclaimed Algerian-American (an immigrant to the USA) 'vigilante' called himself 'Valerian' (modelled after a comic book galactic hero storyline) and pursued pedestrian cynics in the modern world. Valerian remembered his younger days in Algeria but loved America for its democratic principles. Valerian was investigating a new crime syndicate in NYC, a ruthless gang calling itself the Dead Rabbits. The Dead Rabbits wore rabbit-masks (rather eerie) and hunted drunken nightclub-goers on weekends and slit their throats and wrists and posted their photos anonymously on the Internet --- e.g., "Victims of Capitalism!"

Valerian discovered that the Dead Rabbits has much 'loftier' goals than simple Jack the Ripper oriented 'message-murders.' The Dear Rabbits stole cannisters of chemical weapons from Iraq and smuggled them to the United States. Their plan was to rent a private jet and soar above NYC as high as possible and release their flesh-mutating spores (the chemical weapons they stole!) onto the people. President Trump called the Dead Rabbits the 'New Nazis,' and he urged Valerian to do everything in his power to bring their reign of madness to a complete end (before it was way too late).

To intercept the Dead Rabbits in mid-air, Valerian decided to fly around on a hang-glider while the Rabbits' private-jet soared above ready to release their spores. Valerian and the Trump Administration were informed of the Rabbits' 'spore-invasion' by an omen-letter the leader of the Dead Rabbits sent to the New York Post on Devil's Night (the evening of ritual mischief which fall right before Halloween Eve every year!). Valerian was on his hang-glider when he spotted the Rabbits' private jet. Valerian quickly shot his magnetic bombs at the Rabbits' jet-plane, and when the explosives went off, the Rabbits were destroyed. President Trump called Valerian the 'New Tarzan.'
