University of Missouri Protests Use Racism as a Pretext for Pushing Liberal Agenda

COLUMBIA, Mo. — Months of student and faculty protests over racial tensions and other issues that all but paralyzed the University of Missouri campus culminated Monday in an extraordinary coup for the demonstrators, as the president of the university system resigned and the chancellor of the flagship campus here said he would step down to a less prominent role at the end of the year.

The threat of a boycott by the Missouri football team dealt the highest-profile blow to the president, Timothy M. Wolfe, and the chancellor, R. Bowen Loftin, but anger at the administration had been growing since August, when the university said it would stop paying for health insurance for graduate teaching and research assistants.

It reversed course, but not before the graduate assistants held demonstrations, threatened a walkout, took the first steps toward forming a union and joined forces with students demonstrating against racism.

Then the university came under fire from Republicans for ties its medical schools and medical center had to Planned Parenthood. The university severed those ties, drawing criticism from Democrats that it had caved in to political pressure.

Of course they do, jwoodie.

The far right pulls shenanigans to advance its agenda.

Context.

Now campus police have issued a statement that anyone exposed to "hurtful" speech should call 9/11. Liberals are nuts, totally effin nuts

It is American to call out abuse and discrimination, time the right wing in America learned that. It took football to get action, that too says lots about contemporary America.

Incident timeline: What the Hell Just Happened at Mizzou?

Racism has gone so deep into the psyche of Americans, especially conservative Americans, they do not even see it and instead use the 'race card' as a deflection. Amazing how people can so easily be programmed. Below is a bit of an answer for those who can still see.

"LOPEZ: You know, for me, I heard this the speech and the end, and I thought about the way that it seemed connected to a strain of American conservatism that holds that the "real racist" is he or she who brings up race first, brings it up directly and says that it must be considered. It stems from the idea of colorblindness -- a once-liberal idea that essentially held that our race or ethnicity was not all that defined us but we still need to be mindful of how race continues to shape our lives, our options."

University of Missouri President Tim Wolfe’s very telling resignation speech

"The protesters at this school are saying we are concerned about and we must confront the great moral outrage of racism. And [in this section], the president is saying that we must worry about declining standards of etiquette.

Rather than address the substance of the students' concerns or the structure that put the students in the position that they felt they had to engage in protests, the president is criticizing them for protesting loudly and, I guess, shutting down their football games. And right there, you see the kernel of the problem on this campus. The university president fails to understand the circumstances the students are contending with and essentially dismisses them or, until his resignation, his obligation to listen to them and address them because the students did not ask nicely, they were not dressed in their Sunday best.

In some ways, this kind of fundamental misunderstanding is understandable.

There is a stereotype of African Americans being threatening, and that is embodied in the president’s language, his use of words such as “intimidation.” There is also revisionist myth making about civil rights protests that asks or at this point virtually allows some of us to only look back on them in this odd way. You hear people say things like 'look how neatly dressed they were, they were so polite.'"

And this:

"Gingrich, of course, denied this, offering “a bromide on the value of hard work” which was met with applause by the audience. Stanley writes: “Williams followed up by pointing out to Gingrich that expressions such as ‘lacking work ethic’ were associated with negative racial stereotypes…and it was disingenuous for Gingrich to deny them. The audience loudly booed Williams’s response.” In other words, “lacking a work ethic” is code for “lazy blacks,” just like “food stamps” or “welfare queens.” In 2012, you don’t need to say, “Negroes are shiftless freeloaders” to tap into the racist ideology of a portion of the audience. You just need to use the right code words."

Oh, no, the far right quantity will never shut out the mainstream quality of America.

When these kids graduate, they might go to work right? Who is going to hire them and walk on eggshells daily to avoid Discrimination Charges, lawyers, protests, wasted time on false complaints etc. ?

"University of Missouri Protests Use Racism as a Pretext for Pushing Liberal Agenda"

An 'agenda' that embraces and respects diversity, dissent, and expressions of individual liberty – including the right of racists and bigots to express their ignorance and hate with impunity; it's an 'agenda' consistent with the Constitution, the rule of law, a free and democratic society, and the fundamental principles of our Republic.

Oh, the horror...those evil liberals...

Some have pointed out, no pics, no evidence, but racism alleged? no pics of "crap" Swastika? huh? They get pics of anything everything all day long?

Yet the University President caves and quits? Someone is pulling the strings on this crap? Watch it spread. They forced take-down of historical Confederate flag because one killer had one in his bedroom.

An American Fascism
Calling the campus protests what they are.

The racist, McCarthyite, totalitarian movement rearing its ugly head on college campuses as diverse as Missouri, Yale and Vanderbilt is being treated by conservatives as a case of kids too fragile to handle views with which they disagree. This may work as a debating tactic but it misunderstands both the malignancy of the politics behind the campaign and the ferocity of its radical leaders. Now they are calling for the heads of liberals (and getting them). But quaint American prejudices like the First Amendment still stand in their way. But for how long? If this movement, which includes large contingents of the Democratic Party – including the president, achieves critical mass and succeeds in its agendas and acquires the necessary power, who can doubt that they will be putting dissenters in prison and worse? These are people intoxicated with their own virtue, and determined to purge non-believers in their path. They are a perfect analogue to the Islamic fanatics who want to purify the planet. While the Islamic fanatics be-head, the American fanatics suppress and burn. At bottom, they see the world in parallel terms: Slay the infidels wherever you find them.

The current eruptions on college campuses, which will be escalating through this year, are the product of four decades of capitulations to leftwing racism and political correctness, which is a totalitarian party line whose inventor Mao Zedong murdered 70 million Chinese in its name. America still has strong traditions of intellectual pluralism and individual rights, which are obstacles in the way of the progressive storm troopers, but for how long? How many capitulations by so-called liberals, how many unconstitutional executive orders, how many coercions by Democrat-controlled government agencies before there are no obstacles left?

I haven't heard a single piece of evidence showing that these demonstrations are necessary. I suspect it's part of the continued efforts by groups, like BLM, and the Dems to rile the bases before the election.

They keep claiming racism, but we haven't seen actual cases. There are the lies surrounding Michael Brown and several minority professors have made false claims of police racism. One claimed she was pulled over for being black and asked if she spoke English. Another claimed to be approached by an officer for the crime of 'walking down the street while black.' In both cases, a camera proved they were lying.

Now we have groups like BLM burning the American flag and putting their own flag up. Insanity rules these days. Meanwhile, across the country whites are being told to check their white privilege. It seems there is nothing anyone can do to appease these groups. It's not enough that most are not racist, they want some kind of retribution from everyone with light skin and they won't rest or stop getting into peoples' faces until everyone agrees with whatever the hell message they are conveying. I think it's about revenge for some invented wrongs. Most people are not racist nor does the country hold anyone down. If they could see the whole picture, they'd rise up against the government nannies who are behind the over-dependence on government and the resulting lack of desire to succeed on their own.
