The Castro government, in Eisenhower's words, was "dominated by international communism." U.S. officials repeatedly charged that the island government was a cruel dictatorship and that the United States had no choice but to try "restoring" Cuban liberty."

At the time Eisenhower was saying these words Black Americans could not use the same bathrooms and water fountains as white folks because they were considered animals and Jim Crow was the law for Blacks ....they rode in the back of the bus while Ike was concerned about "Cuban Liberty"

The Democrats can kiss Florida good bye in any future election.
yeah sure ....the Cuban American vote was already Republican...the rest of Florida will see economic benefits from what Obama did with Cuba ...and the liberal portion of the Cuban Americans will now vote Democrat

U.N. General Assembly Votes Overwhelmingly Against U.S. Embargo of Cuba”, October 30, 2013

Speaking before the General Assembly before last year’s vote, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez declared: “The economic damages accumulated after half a century as a result of the implementation of the blockade amount to $1.126 trillion.”

Leaving out the part that it was because of Russia's economic collapse. So they had to change to a little bit of controlled capitalism, allowing the people to have some businesses.

Cuba has been victimized for over 50 years by a monstrous and ruthless policy of causing the people of Cuba economic pain of causing illness and hunger in Cuba in order to manipulate the population against Fidel Castro....yesterday that Policy crashed and failed and you all are very bitter about that ..specially that thirsty little boy Marco Rubio

Still having a hard time seeing the difference between Cuba and China.

If someone will explain away the hypocrisy, I'd be much obliged. Otherwise, we ought to treat Cuba like China.

It is not America that has caused their equal misery it was Fidel Castro's government control over them.
It doesn't matter how any government implements their communism or socialism it always ends up the same with equality to all of the people being poor and in misery.

They still are not going to have freedom of speech or freedom of the press or freedom of cell phones or freedom of the Internet.
They will still get rationed food and have that food taken away if you break the government rules.
None of that is going to change.

Ron Paul Wants To End Anti-Cuban Sanctions

Lew Rockwell
LRC Blog
February 20, 2008
Ron Paul has always advocated free trade with Cuba: no barriers, no subsidies, and complete freedom for Americans to buy Cuban goods, and American farmers and businessmen to export to Cuba. Ron also knows that free trade means exporting capitalism to Cuba, just what that poor country needs. All the other candidates are for tightening the screws on Cubans (and would-be American traders and visitors). Ron Paul wants to export freedom and private property rights. And good for him for using the occasion of Castro’s resignation to call for an end to immoral and protectionist anti-civilian sanctions.

China is not right next door to America
Chinas nukes are capable of reaching the west coast, but Cuba with Russian missiles can reach a fast area of America.

You can say "it was not America that caused" misery but here are the words of US State department officials saying the opposite way back in 1960..

On April 6, 1960, Lester D. Mallory, US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Inter-American Affairs, wrote in an internal memorandum:

The majority of Cubans support Castro … The only foreseeable means of alienating internal support is through disenchantment and disaffection based on economic dissatisfaction and hardship. … every possible means should be undertaken promptly to weaken the economic life of Cuba.” Mallory proposed “a line of action which … makes the greatest inroads in denying money and supplies to Cuba, to decrease monetary and real wages, to bring about hunger, desperation and overthrow of government.”

Once the security situation of Cuba eases the Cuba government will relax its security measures ...

They would need to have :

a) actual Nuclear Missiles

b) a desire to commit suicide

I would be all for it if the people of Cuba actually got freedom, but they will not have freedom of speech or freedom of the press or property rights.

How is it that you know "they will not have freedom of speech or freedom of the press or property rights" ? a serious question how do you know the above ?

The Government will still be in control of what they think the people should and should not have.
They will just have it a little bit better in their misery.
It did not stop Russia or any other country to give them the trade and supplies needed.

Because of the regimes ideology.
Have you heard anything at all from that Government that the people will have freedom of the press or speech?
Alan Gross was arrested in 2009 for trying to give the small Jewish community who has a tiny bit more freedom than the rest of Cuba. freedom to provide communications equipment to break the Cuban government's 'information blockade'

Raul Castro's speech he gave to his people with the deal made by Obama. said that they are committed to their principals meaning no freedom to the people

I agree. The Castro's won't be around forever. Hell. Fidel might already be dead and they haven't let anyone know it.

I'm sure most of the Cuban citizens are about sick to shit of Communism by now and would love to hit the old capitalist trail.

As you said we'll just have to wait and see how it plays out.

They will just get a new Dictator.
Cuban leaders are committed to a Dictatorship no matter who is the leader.
you know nothing at all about Cuba ...you speak without a "data base"

I speak from Raul Castro's own words who says that Cuba is committed to it's principals which is keeping Cuba a Dictatorship.
Riiiiiight.
